So my stay started off at 5 stars for sure but by 12:30pm the following day it ended at 1. Keith gets his 5 stars for sure. He took care of my parking flipped the bill for my sons candy and was very courteous and did what I felt to be a very welcoming and genuine check in. I've stayed here plenty of times prior to this so I felt good about the initial process. Had a few concerns about the wifi and why on my last visit I was continuously kicked over and over again even after paying for the upgraded service seeing as it had never been an issue before but really didnt have any answers but its not like hes the hotels .I.T. guy so thats to be expected. He picked a room that was close to the office so in theory things should have been fine. I get in my room pay for the upgrade and start having the same issue as before but instead of complaining about it and really just not trying to be "that guy" I just let it go. After a few hours of dealing with that I decided that maybe i should try a different location in the loft and went into the bedroom on the first floor. I had a guest with me and after being in the room for maybe 30 minutes or so she begins to turn very red on her arms and chest and a rash starts to develop on her. Concerned about the issue she leaves because I had my 3 year old son in the room who was upstairs sleeping and we weren't sure what it was. So she leaves and im in the process of setting up my portable gaming set up and I notice what appeared to be like seeds or something in the cracks of the chair in the Room so what I did is I got a pen to run along the cracks of the chair to remove them seeing how this is the chair that I'm going to be sitting on for the next couple hours doing whatever I'm going to be doing and after I remove them during a closer look they were not seeds but little insect eggs or something of the sort little sacks of something insect related for sure. Disgusted by the whole event and now very uneasy about the whole situation it made me start to look at the room a little differently cuz now I was paying more attention to my actual surroundings and it becomes very clear to me that either whoever cleaned this room prior to me staying there gave absolutely no f*s about actually doing their job properly or that this room hadn't had anybody stay in it 4 a really long time. It almost seems that after looking at the room on the first floor that it felt like somebody had just been in their prior to me actually going in there because I mean the bed was made but it wasn't at the same time if that makes sense. So I exit that room and my son's still sleeping when it comes close to check out time so I called and asked for a late check-out 30 minutes or so and during the conversation with the woman at the front desk she begins to insinuate that I had been a witness to a crime during the night.I tell this woman I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about and she tells me well somebody said that you witnessed somebody breaking into somebody else's hotel room and I'm thinking to myself if there's somebody that's telling you that I was a witness to somebody else's hotel room being broken into wouldn't that make that person a witness to somebody else's hotel room being broken into? The whole thing was very strange to me plus I had my three-year-old son with me. So I get my son together I got our bags go to my car get him in his car seat get into the driver seat of my car and then the next thing I know there's a Greenwood Village K-9 unit police officer parking in front of my vehicle out of nowhere along with three other Greenwood Village police officers in the parking lot and nobody gets out of their car or even really looks at me and then they kind of escort me to the highway on Arapahoe Road and I-25. All in all I'll never stay at that hotel ever again just based on all the different events that led up to me leaving the Hotel the next morning and possibly all Marriott owned properties. In 2 years I've stayed at least 4 times a month at a Marriot owned facility and this...
Read moreFilthy room. (1012) Checked in very late at 1 am to a full hotel. Front desk attendant had to go check that no one was in our room.. which should have been our first indication of a bad stay and was super strange. Got to our room and it was disgusting. Smelled horrible (like stale fried food, and musty) and surfaces were visibly dirty/carpet was not vacuumed completely. The carpet by the vanity and water heater closet was also damp. So gross. They were fully booked so we were stuck. I sent a message to management through our booking app to let them know about the issues right away. We were gone to a funeral the following day all day. We never heard back from management and came back to the same filth/ smell. We wiped down what we could with Clorox wipes from the store and accepted that we were just stuck. The following morning while packing up, I grabbed a tea bag from the kitchenette and a cockroach crawled out. My husband killed it. I immediately went to the front desk attendant who apologized and said they’d call pest control and the eco lab and she’d discuss with her manager about a refund. She said that the people staying before us were from another country, stayed 60 days, and asked me twice if it smelled like curry because she could see who stayed there. Racist much? I said I don’t know but it smells like fried stale food and musty which makes sense now. The room is dirty and now the health hazard of a cockroach. Our daughter has a lung condition and these types of things can be detrimental to her health. Her asthma was peaked by exposure in this room. We all had allergic type symptoms all weekend. It was a nightmare.
The front desk gal asked me to send pictures of it which I did as well as video. She said that she agreed it was a cockroach. She said she’d keep me posted and that they’d get it handled and she was so sorry. She also mentioned that they’d had pests before from other long term guests from other countries, such as fire ants...she also shared that her housekeepers all just left early the day before and that they’d had issues going on.
We had to unpack every item, check for stow aways and meticulously repack to avoid taking the filth/infestation home with us.
Today I still hadn’t heard back so I reached out. I get a response from management that no pest activity was found in the report they got back, but they’ll give us just one night for the inconvenience. Total lie and slap in the face. We gave them the chance to make this right and were more than patient throughout the stay and after. We should be refunded in full as a cockroach infestation is a health hazard and completely avoidable and unacceptable. Also considering I cleaned your hotel room more than your staff was willing to do. I guess one night is better than nothing. But we will be sharing what happened. It’s not okay.
Avoid this place if you want a clean room and don’t want to be gaslit about their obvious pest problem. Looking through other reviews the gaslighting and blaming guests seems to be a trend. Interesting there was no ‘evidence of roach activity’ when we literally killed it and left it under a glass on the counter as your front desk asked. I’ll even attach the photo. At 4:30 today I was told that pest control hadn’t come in yet due to weather and would be in tomorrow. By 7:30 I’m told they came in already, so which is it? Even without that, the room was disgustingly dirty and unkept. We have stayed in other residence inns and have never seen one so run down with staff so unwilling to make things right. I shouldn’t have to disinfect and clean a hotel room I paid for. The carpet shouldn’t have damp musty spots, and there should not be disease carrying bugs crawling out...
Read moreWe stayed in a 2 bed/2 ba for 2 weeks while working from home and had a good stay.
Pros:
STAFF: Every staff member we interacted with was incredibly nice, especially the two wonderful women who serve breakfast!
WORKING FROM HOME: The Internet was great and we didn't have any issue doing simultaneous Zoom calls. The desk and chair in the bedroom were nice, and plenty large for a laptop and a monitor. The bar area in the kitchen worked well for a second person to work comfortably. It wasn't too loud for two people to work in this close proximity.
NEIGHBORHOOD: Greenwood Village is very nice. There are plenty of fast casual places to eat nearby (from Taco Bell/Jimmy Johns to Chipotle/Schlotzsky's/Torchy's), grocery stores within 10 mins drive, and a fun brewery (Peak View Brewing) just 5 mins driving distance. There are also multiple parks for running outdoors within 5 minutes driving. We felt safe and enjoyed the area. It was only a 20 min drive from downtown Denver (no tolls).
LAUNDRY: The laundry room worked perfectly. There are multiple washers and dryers and we never had to wait for a machine. Each load is $1.75 for a washer (30 mins) and $1.75 for a dryer (60 mins) and you can pay by credit card. The laundry room was clean. Just know that you need to bring your own detergent/pods.
Some other things to note:
LIVING SPACE: The space was fine, but a few things could have been better. The standing shower stall upstairs was very small and a bit uncomfortable to use; the door to the downstairs bedroom didn't fully close; the A/C made the downstairs area really cold but the upstairs remained extremely warm and we could never really get it to cool off. Luckily we had a portable fan with us that we were able to use. The Paul Mitchell bath products were nice.
NOISE: The room we stayed in was facing the highway, and the downstairs bedroom experienced a lot of traffic noise (especially motorcycles revving up!). For some reason, the upstairs bedroom was much quieter. It might be more challenging to sleep in the downstairs bedroom if you have a room facing the highway. We were only using that room for working during the daytime so it was okay.
KITCHEN SUPPLIES: Overall the kitchen had all that we needed to cook from home, but it wasn't as well stocked as a typical airbnb. There were 4 large plates, 4 small plates, 4 small bowls, 3 mugs, and a few glasses as well as cutlery; we would have appreciated a few more mugs and bowls (we didn't ask for more, but the staff were so nice and helpful, I'm sure we could have asked). There were also a few pots and pans and a tray for the oven.
FITNESS CENTER: The fitness center is very small but adequate: there is 1 treadmill, 1 elliptical, 1 exercise bike, and 1 bench with plenty of weights. When we went in the mornings, it was sometimes occupied and sometimes not. We enjoyed using it when it was available. If you want to wipe down the equipment before/after use maybe take your own wipes because theirs were dried out and unusable. There was working hand sanitizer and...
