Slattery's Pub & Grill — Restaurant in Greenwood Village

Beer prices are good. Location is also convenient. But... Used to have good quality food with seasonal updates to the menu that made coming fun and refreshing each trip. I'd often bring by friends before and after shows at the comedy bar across the way. At some point last year though I noticed a sharp change in the taste and quality of the food. After a few disappointing trips in I had to figure out what happened. It was after talking to some staff it seems there was a change in ownership. You could notice a drop in taste and presentation. I asked why the place always seemed busy so cutting cost didn't seem necessary and I was told the owner didn't really communicate with the rest of the staff. Chicken tenders used to be so good I loved getting off work down the street and coming by for made in house tasty beer battered chicken and a few beers, and now its processed meat that you could grab from Walmart/Costco for half the price and I would get a larger portion in a meal. Also the Irish staple corned beef used to have more flavor and was ready to fall apart. Now it tastes significantly lower in quality and is tough and cut too thick. It's a shame so many new owners make the mistake of sacrificing quality when switching over. Colorado has had sub par food for years but in the last 10 we've seen a boom in small restaurants embracing the creative side of food and making it from scratch. My husband and I were looking for a quick bite to eat with a calm environment, naturally we picked Slattery’s. We have enjoyed and loved this place for years. However, upon entering we quickly realized things were different. The host was over at the bar talking to other employees we waited about a minute and he finally strolled over... It was 5pm and only a couple people were seated at the bar.

As we sat down, our waitress came to the table (barely dressed) and informed us on the Happy hour prices to then inform us there was not happy hour on weekends (there used to be). We ordered just a couple appetizers (some of our favorites) and when they were brought out we quickly realized the food quality was different. It also took until we were finished with food for the waitress to come check in on our table and over 20min for a beer refill. She and the staff were huddled by the bar laughing and socializing.... They also had club music blaring at 5pm of a Saturday my husband and I could not talk to each other at all.

Also, at around 5:30 we had Jack Daniels girls come up to our table offering us Whiskey. My husband nicely declined and I rubbed my belly and said no I am pregnant. Not a big deal right? The Jack Daniels girl turns around and says “You know, we can’t legally turn you away if you say yes.....”

Needless to say, we will probably not be back. If we wanted to go to a bar with loud club music and 1/2 dressed girls, we would have gone downtown at 9pm not the DTC area at 5pm. With the food being just “Ok” now it is not...

I am blessed to travel for my job so I have been all over the united states and traveled globally. They have the best garlic parm wings I have EVER had. It's very hard to find good garlic parm sauce but they have a homemade sauce that is UNREAL. They should sell it by the bottle. The waffles are incredibl, I have no idea what is in the batter but its AMAZING.

Far as the staff, Lexus/bar tender/and the rest of the staff including management are absolutely blessings to the field. I get paid to talk so I talk A LOT when I am out and they were very kind. I was the first customer when they opened for the day. I went yesterday and it was so good I was there first thing in the morning. I cannot recommend this place enough. I am an only child and I am genetically picky, its BAD. However I give this place the VERY BEST recommendation, one if the best sports bars I ever been to, EVER. By the way, I am sober almost a decade and they serve UNREAL mocktails NO ISSUE, not ever bat does that, they did it with a smile with ZERO issue, I have ran into stigma and shame with being sober, here they treated me...
