R Place — Restaurant in Greenwood

This experience is in reference to a visit on January 30,2025 for a 5:00 reservation. I had originally reserved the room which holds 14. Earlier in the day when I realized my numbers had increased, I give the restaurant a call. Explaining my numbers were now 18 I was told the manager would contacted and sign off on a space for us. I was told after he signed off I would be contacted. I have never had this happen before and should have questioned this. I was not contacted and assumed everything was a go. Once I arrived I was told we would wait on more people before being sitted. Once sitted, more of my party arrived which exceeded the room limit. My complaint is against the manager in his handling of the situation. When he arrives he explained the problem. I told him I had called, changed my numbers earlier. He attempted to over talk me and put the blame on me. We were told it be 20 mins to be resitted. No apology or empathy was given by the manager. After we were moved I continued to watch as he greeted other customers. Never did he once approach our tables to check on us or greet us in anyway. As stated there were 18 customers and I have brought group there before. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The food was good. I am a regular customer who brings in other customers. I expect courtesy, especially when I sat and watched him be courteous to all of the other customers around us. There were others at our tables who also notice this. I would think RPlace owner would rather a review than for your business to be affected. Like I said I’m a regular customer who has brought in business, I couldn’t just sit idly by. 1st time going here since it changed from JPeters. Definitely NOT the same! My family of four dined here to celebrate my daughter birthday & mother's day. Couple of plates & silverware was dirty. House salad & club sandwich had old brown lettuce on it. Had to ASK for fresh lettuce. Our bill included an added PRE TIP OF $15.00 THAT WAS ADDED BY THE WAITER HIMSELF! When asked he told me, "We been doing that." It didn't sit well with me so I headed to the front of restaurant to speak with manager but was able to speak with another young lady & she explained to me that he should not have added that tip in, that is for groups of 7 & more. Upon looking at our receipt he put it was a party of 8. 2 lies already from this waiter. I also looked at the party( at least 7 or 8 ppl, middle age to older white ppl) behind us receipt & no pre tip was added to their bill. On our copy after card was ran, it was an line asking for an additional tip. I was able to speak with manager, he had to re-run my card for the total price of $109, originally $125. So not only did the waiter falsely add $15 to my bill, I was double charged until the voided transaction is return to my card. I have reached out to upper management to contact me via their contact form on Sunday(05/14/23), but I would NEVER return here or recommend. JPeters was a 4.5 star this facility...

Called 2 months in advance and made reservations for a room for my college graduation. The first person I spoke too approved my request, but told me to call back to speak to a manager. I did. She told me, “we usually don’t do reservations for college parties, but since someone already said yes, we will do it for you”. Sounds good right? She took down all my information and everything was good. I called again three days before my graduation to confirm my reservation, they told me “be here around 1:30 and we will have the room and spots ready.” Great? Nope, here’s the fun part.

We get there at 1:30, I tell a waitress we have reservations, she looks me in the eye annoyed and said, “we dont take reservations”. Right then, I knew it was going downhill. At the same time I noticed a large party being seated in the room I reserved. Then the hostest comes and tells us a million excuses. We ended up waiting an hour and a half before being placed at 3 tables pulled together in the middle of other customers. When I specifically asked for a room. I can’t believe we stayed, the hostest gave us the “the people are getting up from your table in 5 mins” excuse sooooo many times. I could tell they did not care. Great food, horrible service.
