Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Greenwood

Okay so up until now I have eaten at this steak and shake several times and the food has always been decent. I mean I've eaten there several times, it was my go to for late nights , its only a mile from my home and Im a fan of the brand. Tonight , however, I've had an experience that I thought was only real in the movies or you know crappy teenage books . My wife worked late so I went down and ordered our usual : 2 number ones. First one I always get loaded with no tomato and chili cheese fries. Second one is loaded with no onions and onion rings. Well when I got home I find that my chili cheese fries and my sandwich both were cold, her food was fine and she ate it happily while I called the store. I am from the manager of the situation and asked if I could come down for a replacement and he said sure come on down. So I ventured back out into the cold and headed back to the store. When I got there I went to the counter and I informed the clerk and then she went and got the manager and everything seemed to be going fine, I even went to the kiosk and ordered a shake since I had kinda wanted one earlier and knew that I had to wait. I wasn't upset or rude and the manager was friendly and understanding, literally no big deal in fast food, happens all the time , business as usual. My shake was mm and it was perfect . No problem. While waiting I did hear someone say oh the chili cheese fries guys here tell him something I couldn't quite make it out you know and I I just talked it up to you know kids whatever it's Friday night you know he's just being salty because he felt like the chili cheese fries he made were adequate and unfortunately they were not you know so he probably said something I couldn't quite hear it. Once again I chalked it up it's no big deal. The manager was cool I was cool I figured there was nothing to worry about I hadn't been rude or upset at all. I got my food and you know I think the manager and he thanked me we both told each other to have a good evening and out to where I went. Short ride home and back in the house, get my sandwich out and then the surprise. If I pulled it from the rapper juice ran down my fingers in hand on my elbow. In shock I look to realize that the entire bottom bun was dripping wet with what appeared to be water or something. Wat too much to be saliva but still definitely not appetizing . Then I open the chili cheese fries and was aghast at the horrendous concoction in front of me. Far far West as cold limp nudity nastiness Way beyond what I had returned. Clearly soft lamp in and just I don't know it was just bad it looked like the chili and cheese have just been slapped in there and then I don't know there's just soggy loose fries that were not even I mean clearly undercooked. Having lost my appetite, I was no longer concerned with having food replaced. Honestly I wasn't really concerned about having the $8 or $9 whatever refund it me and my wife's food seem to be fine..... However I was offended that I had you know been attacked now so I did call the manager. When I called him I said you know man I know that it wasn't you, because you were very cool and professional. I just informed him of the state of the sandwiches and the fries, I said I no longer had an appetite but that he should probably keep a weathered eyes on his guys. He apologized and thanked me for informing him, and we hung up. I wasn't going to try to pursue anything further with the store, I just figured you know I'm not going to patronize it again and I just hope that that manager guy knew who the culprit was and informed all of them of the severity of such action and the repercussions that could result. Also the damage to the reputation of the store that such actions can cause. Personally I'll just drive the extra miles to get to the store in beach grove , that was already better in every category anyway, I'll never patronize this location again though. Because somewhere in their management there has been a huge failure in the trainingand leadership of their staff and crew which is dangerous...

If I could give zero stars, I would. Went through the drive thru, and ordered a burger n fries and a kids meal. They only sent me with the burger and fries....and I didn't realize it until I drove all the way home. After I realized that I had to drive all the way back up to Steak and Shake(with gas at $3.39/gal) when I got back, I first went into the restaurant and stood around and waited 5 minutes to find an employee to just even acknowledge the fact that I was there and needed some assistance. That never happened so I walked back out to my vehicle and decided to go back through the drive-thru. Now, I was pissed, but the guy that works the drive-thru is incredibly sweet and I just adore him. I wasn't rude to him I wasn't angry with him, mistakes happen no big deal. So I just wanted a refund and I didn't have my receipt and I paid with a credit card. So he had to get the manager and she came to the window and immediately was irritated that she even had to deal with me she threw up in the window like pushed it so hard it sounded like she was hitting it out of anger, people she did not just push the window open she hit the window open! So I know that this is not going to be a good exchange I asked her for a refund and she of course was not going to give me cash because I paid with a card and that the only thing she could do was make me the food again. So I can't get a refund and I'm stuck with food that I now do not want and it's going to come from this lady who has a very poor attitude and is just a jerk to me. She was just hateful for no reason and I don't understand it it was her people that made the mistake not me. I didn't come in there with a terrible attitude however this woman had major attitude And then I find out she is the manager. Hee name is Jaime, she was rude after, and approached me with an attitude of I was an annoyance. She was hateful with her words, her body language reminded me of a 4yr.old throwing a fit, likely was mad cuz she had to actually do some work. She never apologized for the order being wrong, or the fact that I had to spend the rest of my lunch hour running back there from the other side of town,using the gas that I can barely afford. Nope, she wasn't sorry my experience sucked, didn't care that she likely lost a customer(& hey, ppl of SteakNShake, the reason you HAVE NOW lost me as a customer, it's not cuz my order was wrong. It is because Your Manager, Jaimie, was so incredibly rude and obnoxious, she obviously didn't value me as a customer, or even respect me as a person. Jaimie is a very poor representation of your company, and if ypu continue to keep her as your 1st line of defense.....you WILL ABSOLUTELY lose more customers due to her disrespectful attitude. We won't be returning g for quite sometime,...

Wish I could give MINUS 5 stars. If you're anything like me and are sick of how business think they can operate like this I advise stay away. Made the mistake of eating here with a friend last week. Wanted to leave a review of my experience then but didn't feel like being negative but after trying to pick up a door dash order last night I must now speak.

Waited for over 20 minutes and still didn't get the order. Granted this is after being completely IGNORED a long with a nice couple that was having an issue with the order placing machine. The girl on the grill needs to find a New job as that was the worst I've ever seen. I've worked that grill before in my teenage years so I know how it goes and she had no clue what she was doing. Dropping "steak" burgers on the floor as she was tryin to place them on the buns not to mention having no idea on the proper technique of pressing the puck down on the grill and creating those crispy edges. SMH.

Now on to the eating experience from last week. Hence the Air quotes on steak. The quality of the meat is honestly pathetic now compared to what it used to be. I seriously doubt there is any steak n this meat anymore. Tastes like any other cheap patty now. Fries somehow taste even more bland and the BACON IS MICROWAVE BACON!!! What a pathetic tiny amount of food at its finest.
