The food and atmosphere is always great. But tonight my experience was rather upsetting. I came in around 6:30 with a group of 5 people. We were told that we had to be placed on the waiting list due to the odd number. This is understandable. So we spoke with the Plasencia rep that happened to be there tonight and even purchased some cigars with the anticipation of being able to enjoy them inside. 5 minutes later we were asked to wait in our cars while on the waitlist and I would be notified by phone soon. We sat, and sat, and sat watching people walk in and out. After an hour we were told still nothing opened up but there are new patrons at various tables enjoying a drink and smoke. That's when we realized that there was some gas lighting going on so we left to another cigar bar. 2 hours later I call just to inquire if they were actually planning on seating us and still nothing available. That is absolutely poor service. No doubt we were forgotten. No call or text with an update. Several people left and several entered and were seated. This is very disheartening. I'm a regular at the Birmingham location and I will continue to be. But I will no longer patronize this location after...
Read moreGeneral manager/co owner Ernest is very rude. We were seated upstairs and it was only our group up stairs. After watching a large group of us spend money on drinks, cigars, and food, 15 minutes before closing he came up to our party and began to yell and curse at us for being too loud, telling us to switch seats if we want to talk to each other and not to talk across the table. He then returned about 5 minutes later to yell some more about how he felt that he deserved an aplogy for members of our party being loud and how he owns the place. Seemed like he was trying to antagonize some of the men, but eveyone held their composure. We were there for over 2 hours. Not once did he or any server come and tell us to quite down. We come here all the time and never had a problem. The entire situation was awful. Our server was very polite and apologized so we still left him a nice tip. Besides that the cigars are good, drinks are good, food is expensive and bland with small portions. The bar itself use to have a nice vibe. When you go make sure to not laugh too loud, just sit, smoke and stare at your mates. Don't go with a large party unless you all are good...
Read moreWas visiting from out of town for business, searched the local yelp for reviews and this place did come up near the top.
So we went in to test it out. The parking out front is metered isn't a big deal they probably have parking out back in their lot.
The place looks very nice inside, wasn't really ready for the smell of cigars but it was ok since it was pretty much empty on a Saturday afternoon.
The food was great.. We requested a rare steak and it arrived definitely closer to medium rare / medium. Due to time we just let it go even though the waiter was more than helpful and offered to have it returned before we really said anything.
For Service 5 stars... Food 5 stars ... Atmosphere 5 stars I'm not a cigar guy but to be honest just to chill in this place I would probably give it a try.
Nice little place and clearly worth a late night place to chill and hang out. It is expensive but you get what you pay for... You wont be disappointed if you come check...
