Cold Stone Creamery — Restaurant in Grosse Pointe

I do NOT recommend this Cold Stone location. My mom decided to order two cakes to celebrate Father’s Day and my brother’s 16th birthday. Because we typically order from this Cold Stone, there seemed to be no reason to double check the order, BUT that was obviously a mistake. The young lady at the location did not ask my mom to review the cakes prior to paying and rudely packaged them up. My mom tried calling for a manger TWICE and was hung up on. So, she went ahead and sent a message to corporate TWICE. Moving forward, this location will obviously not be receiving our business. I highly advise for anyone looking to order a cake for their loved ones to think very carefully because the individuals do not take care in ensuring the customers are happy with their purchase. I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the service my father received at Cold Stone Creamery yesterday. Despite standing in line for a considerable amount of time, he was completely ignored by the three employees on shift. Several customers who arrived after him were served promptly, while my father was treated as if he were invisible.

The lack of acknowledgment from the staff was disheartening, and it was painful to see the hurt in my father's face. When another worker started her shift, she immediately noticed him and ensured he was taken care of. He thanked her for her prompt response and mentioned how long he had been waiting.

It's essential for customer service employees to understand that they cannot pick and choose whom to serve. There is no excuse for my father having to wait as long as he did. I feel strongly that this was done intentionally, and it is unacceptable. I am very disappointed. I ordered a strawberry birthday cake today for my sister, Vera, in GPP. Her birthday is Friday, May 27. She lives less than 5 minutes away from the Kercheval store. I spelled out the name. V-E-R-A. I just spoke with my sister. The cake said, Happy Birthday Dera. To add insult to injury, online Cold Stone said, $2.99 for delivery. DoorDash apparently tacked on a service charge of $3.50 and I was not notified about this. Also since the cake was $29.00, I added a 10 percent tip. On my bill, it showed $4.50!!!
