My grandchildren were so excited to take me to this great ice cream place great scenery. We had a great day until they got their ice cream. We went on the back deck was very beautiful. They watched the bridge. Go up mind you they are only four years old so then we were done and there were also many other people on this deck eating the ice cream no signs that you are Not supposed to be there so instead going back in the ice cream parlor we went out the side way we’re there was a gate to get out I threw a napkin in the garbage can Employee comes out like a maniac screaming did you just throw garbage in garbage can where I thought you were supposed to put garbage and it was just a napkin She was just rude and should be fired. It was unnecessary The way she acted telling us we don’t belong back there. Well, what about the many other people that were back there? She upset my grandkids, but they were in tears. They do not want to go back there. They talked about her all the way home how the lady was so mean so thank you for ruining their experience. I hope when she grow up, someone doesn’t do that to your children she just ruined our day. She should definitely be fired. I wish I knew your name and she was lucky that my grandchildren were there. It was really a disgrace will not be returning to ice cream Which is a shame because they do have good ice cream but we will go to the other one. We seen down the street from now on if I can get my grandkids to go there again so thank you very much.

Had to stop by before our drive back to nyc despite it being absolutely freezing out (20 degrees and my friends thought I was insane when I asked them to make one last stop here). I had the seasonal coquito and peppermint patty. I’m Puerto Rican so coquito is a holiday staple for me and I was so impressed by how authentic the ice cream tasted! The texture and flavor of both was some of the best I’ve had and you can tell they make really quality ice cream with premium ingredients. They let me have plenty of samples and I loved how unique the specials were (Rosemary and soy sauce to name a few more!). Im a sucker for some weird and savory flavors. I didn’t try the soy sauce (I already asked to try 4 others so I didn’t want to push it). The rosemary was subtle but really nice. The shop felt so nostalgic and the team was really nice and welcoming. I appreciated them letting me get two flavors in the smaller size because I couldn’t choose between the flavors, but didn’t want a large portion. Would absolutely come back with coolers filled with ice just to be able to bring back some pints. I’ve seen corn on their seasonal menu so would take a 2+ hour trip to try it! Looking forward to my next visit :)

Review for Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream I recently visited Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream and tried their Vermont Maple Nut flavor in a waffle cone—and I’m so glad I did! This little gem of an ice cream shop, located right by the historic drawbridge in Mystic, has a welcoming, old-fashioned charm that makes you feel right at home. The Vermont Maple Nut ice cream was absolutely amazing. The flavor had the perfect balance of rich maple sweetness and creamy, nutty goodness. Each bite was smooth and perfectly crafted, with crunchy nut pieces that complemented the velvety ice cream. The homemade waffle cone added just the right amount of crunch and had that fresh, slightly buttery taste that paired wonderfully with the ice cream. The location only added to the experience, with beautiful views of the river. Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream is a must-visit if you’re in town.

I have never had to leave a bad review before but I could not let this go. I have grown up here and came back to visit my family for the weekend. We have been to drawbridge ice cream many times before and have never had such a jarring experience.

Initially when we walked up we were standing outside for a few minutes finishing our conversation. We headed towards the door and at that moment a tall blonde girl, flips the closed sign, shuts the door on us and said sorry were closed. The website said they were open until 11 and there was still people inside so we went in the other door thinking they could serve us and we could take it to go. We walked inside and she yelled at us “we are closed!” then a male worker clarified that they were closed and would not serve us even though it had just barely turned to 9:30 (which we were just informed was the new closing time). We walked out, very surprised that they would not serve us and shocked that the female worker initially had shut the door on us as we were walking inside. At the very least she could of asked us if we wanted to order before they closed so we could take it to go.

We were standing outside trying to figure out what else was open and she began yelling at the guests eating ice cream sitting inside, “We are closed, did you guys not hear me, we’re closed!” They started packing up their stuff clearly able to tell that she was angry. She then came out from behind the counter and started shooing them out of the restaurant yelling “i know you can hear me we are closed!, time to go, its time to get out” everyone seemed very caught off gaurd and quickly left after of how quickly this had escalated. She then walked behind the counter and started cursing about how everyone was acting like they couldnt hear her even though it was completely out of line for her to be yelling at guests finishing up the ice cream they had paid for. She slammed the door after the last person walked out and we all were speechless after witnessing such irratic and rude behavior to customers.

In all my years I have never seen such blantant disrespect with the rest of the workers seeming just as shocked as the customers. This young lady looked about 20 years old, about 5,9, had medium length blonde hair and was very loud. If I was the owner I would have her immediately fired after...

This place is terrible. We visited this past Sunday for a fun day trip and stopped for ice cream. Our son 10, picked the Apple Crisp Ice cream. We read the board behind the register and the Apple crisp was not located in the “nut” section. We checked the chalkboard on the wall and there was no description for the apple crisp. At the register as always, my son asked if the apple crisp had nuts the scooper said no. We sat down to eat. After two bites my son mentioned that his tongue was feeling funny then mentioned that his throat was itching. Immediately I went to the register and asked again if it had nuts. She said “I’m not sure. Looked at the board behind her and said hmm let me ask”. Another employee came up and said “yes it has pecans” I threw a fit!! Are you kidding me?! I asked you twice and one board has zero information and another board it’s not located in the nut section. I wanted to speak to a manager asap! The manager came and said well the description is on that chalkboard she points and realizes nothing is there and says “yeah your right it’s not there” looks at the board behind her and says yeah I’m sorry about that. I yelled “yall have to be idiots! (Not very nice but idc you put my sons life at risk) Who in the world has a food entity and does not specify if a product has nuts in it! I want a refund now. Its absolutely beyond irresponsible to put people’s lives in danger” my husband came and said our son wasn’t getting better after trying Benedryl first and we needed to go to the ER. I spent my day trip in the ER because this ice cream store put my sons life in danger.100% they are at fault for their carelessness and lack of concern. I’ve reached out to a lawyer as their lack of sympathy was atrocious and their responsibility to have made sure that ice cream had a description and was in the correct location. The manager didn’t care neither any employee. Do not visit here if you have allergies and severe ones at that!!! I took a picture of both signs to show the ice cream was not on the chalkboard nor in the nut section on the board behind the register because I’m sure the owner or manger will try to change it to show they are not at...

I had a quite unpleasant experience here today. The young man with medium length sandy brown hair (bangs to his ear) who took my order at the counter seemed to be microaggressive despite my cordial demeanor. I ordered a soft serve ice cream from the machine behind the counter and for some reason after ordering he and another young gentleman took the finished cone around the back corner for a few minutes while laughing and then returned to put the sprinkles on (which were in plain view and not in the back). The other person I was with whose order was taken by someone else received their ice cream right away and was also bothered by  his (not so) subtle aggressions while taking my order. I'm not sure why he felt the need to take my order out of sight and away from where all of the items I requested were but when he handed it to me "he said sorry for the wait". It made me feel very uncomfortable and needless to say I tossed it and went to a different place for ice cream. Despite the fact that this town is fairly diverse and pleasant, I will not be returning to this ice cream spot. For the safety and treatment of the patrons it could be helpful to have more supervision for the younger staff. Had it not been for the person with me having the same odd feeling about the interaction I would've thought I was crazy.

Update: Despite the owner's reply, I notice there is a pattern of excusing poor employee behavior and discrediting customer reviews despite the fact that they all comment on the same repeated poor customer service. I know how I was made to feel before the order was even fulfilled which is why I went elsewhere where I had a great and positive experience. I also know that the cone was already fully loaded when it was taken out of sight for several minutes. I will still not be returning and would not recommend this place. Save your peace of mind. Clearly the customer service issue is from...
