Mystic is one of our favorite towns to spend the day in Eastern CT. Here is everywhere we ate on a recent visit! 🌟We started the morning with pastries from @Sift_bake_shop 🍪 get their blueberry oatmeal cookie 🌟Our favorite restaurants in Mystic are @theportofcallct and @oysterclubct which both come from @beardfoundation semifinalist @ReneeToupance 🌭 we love the kimchi hot dog 🌟Another @beardfoundation semifinalist in Mystic is @chefdavidstandridge of the @shipwrightsdaughter. We love it there for brunch and dinner! Don’t skip their smoked fish dip 🌟For something a little more casual, we’d hit up @EngineRoomct, @Mystic_Pizza_official 🍕, or @RioSaladoct 🌟And if you need more than a day in Mystic because it’s got such amazing food, then we’d stay the night at @whalersinnmystic • • • #sistersnacking #sistersnackingct #visiteasternct #ctvisit #thinkmystic #mystic #mysticpizza #mysticct #connecticut #ct #ctfoodie #ctfood #ctfoodlovers #ctfoodies #ctfoodblogger #connecticutfoodie #connecticutfood #eeeeats #pasta #oysters #newengland #foodporn #foodbeast #eatingfortheinsta #eastcoast #eastcoastfoodies #eastcoastfeastcoast

Spring road trip: New Jersey to Cape Cod — here’s part one!☀️🌊🍦🦞 📌We made a pitstop in Mystic, CT on Friday and enjoyed a delicious BBQ lunch at Noble Smokehouse! 📌We spent a few hours exploring this charming town with its shops and eateries, and I highly recommend checking out Sift Bake Shop in the downtown. 📌Then we continued to Cape Cod and checked into A Beach Breeze Inn in West Harwich—a perfect central spot on the Cape! 📌Dinner was at The Skipper Restaurant and Chowder House in Yarmouth, where the clam chowder is a must-try. They also have an ice cream shack. We caught the sunset at the beach across the street and strolled around downtown Hyannis. 📌Saturday was packed with sightseeing. We started at the stunning Grays Beach Boardwalk in Yarmouth, surrounded by marshland scenery. Next was a quick stop at Scargo Tower, followed by breakfast at the Kitchen Cafe in Brewster. 📌We then explored the Nauset Marsh Trail with its scenic walking paths around the pond, spending about 45 minutes there. Our next destination was the iconic Nauset Lighthouse, famously depicted on Cape Cod Chips bags. 📌We took a brief walk across Uncle Tim’s Bridge in Wellfleet for some great views and photo ops. Provincetown was our next stop, a delightful town at the tip of the Cape with plenty of local eateries and shops. It was rainy, but we made the most of it and picked up some yummy sweet treats. 📌After that, we visited the picturesque Dune Shacks Trail, which we didn’t complete but still enjoyed. We wrapped up the day with a fantastic dinner at Montano’s in North Truro, known for its handmade pastas and delicious Italian cuisine. The bread and olive oil were exceptional too. We celebrated my birthday with a yummy dessert from the restaurant. Stay tuned for part 2 of how I spent a spring weekend on Cape Cod!☺️💛 #capecod #roadtrip #newengland #newenglandtravel #visitnewengland #newenglandroadtrip #northeastbloggers #eastcoastblogger #njblogger #thecape #capecodeats

I am not a morning person. But after experiencing this absolute treasure for the first time, I could become one. Sift combines fantasy, magic, art and pure talent into a bakery/eatery that will have your tastebuds firing on all cylinders. The two mornings we went here on our mini Halloween weekend getaway to Mystic were exceptional. Scintillating, even. The layout is simple yet elegant and New England refined. Fancy Ugg boot-clad, white pearl necklace doting, flannel buttondown, poofy-jacketed, over-sized sunglasses wearing women the world over will f*cking LOVE this place. The outside seating is quaint yet sophisticated and chic, AND they offer cocktails at their evening-time-only Wine Bar after 5 PM. And the view on their upper balcony is pretty awesome. Putting all that aside, the pastries and sandwiches were dynamite. Insane. If you could wring-out one of their croissants I'm pretty sure you'd have yourself about a half-cup's worth of pure butter per confection. But you can't... know why? Because these croissants are the flakiest, crispiest, chewiest fricken' f*ckin' croissants you'll want to slam into your facehole west of Paris, France. Then there are the pastries. Oh. My. God. This place is proof God exists, and wants us happy. Happy and fat. I would crawl a mile on my belly over broken glass, rusty nails and used hypodermic needles just for another taste. I wish I lived closer - I'd be there everyday. Exceptional.

What you already know. There's always a line. If you wait in the line, you're not just walking in to buy a coffee and one croissant so expect to spend a little. What you're wondering; it's a 20 minute wait and yes the quality is absolutely worth it. Bought a salmon breakfast sandwich that came on their famous and unique everything croissant. Best 👏🏼 lox 👏🏼 sandwich 👏🏼 ever. Unpopular opinion, I think bagels are too heavy, but this croissant version is crave worthy and didn't leave me in a carb coma. I grabbed a mushroom goat cheese baguette and it didn't last 24 hours though it was half the size of my body. I made breakfast sandwiches with it, I used it on the side of my soup, and I dipped it in hummus for a snack. I couldn't stop. Last but not least. I brought home a sticky pecan roll to share with my boyfriend. I had half the following day with my coffee. I thought I saw Jesus, it was so good. I was also very sad, for the first time, that I had a boyfriend as I now wanted the whole roll to myself. Service was 10 out of 10 and a well oiled machine. Worth the experience, worth the stop, and worth bringing some stuff home.
