We havn't been back to BB since they moved. My memory (& I maybe wrong) was it was slightly more upscale or perhaps the clientele of touristy attire seemed to somewhat bring down the ambiance. Overall the atmosphere just seemed more pub oriented than I remember, with zero vibe. It didn't help that the hostess was aloof and just acted like she was doing us a favor by seating us(& yes we did politely request a window table prior to seating...travesty, I know). She verged on being rude, where I literally hesitated to stay. I would never have her at my restaurant greeting guests. Bottom line in this post Covid restaurant scene, mediocre food(fresh pasta in both dishes were wonderfully Al dente, however gummy) I will also add that all food was extremely temperature hot, love that! It still shocks me that for 2 drinks, 2 apps & 2 pasta entrées the bill was north of $125, for food that was just ok. In full disclosure, I have a high bar for food, a 5 star alternative for Linguine Vongole is Pasta Beach, Newport RI w an amazing vibe in their new digs. As far as pasta Bolognese, any great RI Italian restaurant beats this. One important side note on their bolognese, it’s not traditional, (there’s a degree of middle eastern spice) which is fine….but mention it in the menu, my wife(who ordered it) hates middle eastern food and really didn’t care for it.

BRAVO NOT SO BRAVO!! If you want to sit on top of others go here! In the middle of our meal the staff came to setup a 6 top from a 4 top with chairs less than a foot away. We asked for the manager not once but twice and our waitress came back to state that the party is not arriving for an hour. So why setup this table in the middle of someone’s dinner? Why is the manager so busy that she (Sara) can’t come with her own apology. The waitress can’t control the function of greed and I actually feel bad that this establishment puts her into this position. The food was good Thai mussels, scallops with corn risotto (great) and I had the lobster ravioli which was ok as it was heavy on the garlic. Again, the waitress gave us some free ginger ale and not even a visit from this establishments manager. If this is the case then it makes me wonder how much work she has on her hands. This place is VERY LOUD and can’t make a WRONG RIGHT!!!!!

Last year I visited Mystic for an extended weekend to celebrate a friend’s birthday and came across Bravo Bravo (or Bravo ovarB as one sign said). After trying the food there it became obvious how appropriate the name was. We tried a variety of apps, entrees, desserts and drinks and were not disappointed in any aspect. My friend ordered the Paloma and instantly became a fan! In fact, she ordered 3 of them that night. I opted for the seasonal Blueberry Thyme fizz cocktail which was a drink with complexity where the experience at the beginning was different from the finish. Some of the memorable dishes were the burrata app, the whipped goat cheese app and the special entree of a short rib and fried egg on top of a bed of Israeli couscous. I liked the way the spices were used to enhance the natural flavors here while adding accents of their own. Looking forward to having another meal here next time I’m in Mystic.

Honestly the only thing that saved this experience was the food. I will say that everything we ate was delicious but as for the service it was one of the worst experiences I have had. We went to the bar first, waited a couple minutes and sat down when two people left. Took the bartending a couple mins to come over, fine that happens, he cleaned off the area and took our drink order then after giving us our drink order the other bartender came back and told us we had to give up our seat because the guy standing next to us was waiting for that seat! I have never been told to get up after sitting somewhere nor would I as someone who has served tell someone to move after sitting for close to 10 mins especially considering it was a first come first serve. Then we were told another group was getting up so please just wait for them. After waiting over a half hour we finally just put our names in with the host (which was never mentioned by the bartenders to do for the bar area). In the end we ended up sitting in the dinning area which the service was no better. We sat down and was greeted (very loosely using that term) by a waitress would clearly was not happy to be there. Without a hello she asked for my drink order, interrupted me twice while I was ordering which much tude, and then didn't even ask my boyfriend if he wanted anything before walking away. When she came back she put the drink down said "here" and went to walk away again before I had to flag her down to tell her we were ready to order. While waiting we had to flag her down again for bread and for him to order a drink. When we finally got our food, a steak knife and an extra plate was asking too much of her from the look on her face. Overall props to the chefs because the food was amazing! Cooked perfectly and timing was great. Unfortunately unless it is to go I don't think we will...

I called at 4p (Tues) when they opened to make reservations. I requested a window table. I was told that it was no problem and my husband & I could sit at bar until ready. When we arrived we were told table wasn't ready so we asked to sit at bar. The bartender Kevin was great so we ordered appetizers at bar. We were then approached that our table was ready, however I mentioned my request. I was shocked when the woman from behind her mask loudly, so others in restaurant could hear, making me well aware that she was the owner, lashed out at me about the people in our seat had been there 2 hours and if she expected me to have her make them leave, never giving me the chance to say we were fine at the bar. I couldn't believe that as the owner talking to and treating a custom like that. I went back to bar in tears ready to get up and leave. Kevin calmed me down and asked us to stay. I understand we are ALL going through difficults times right now. I was there wanting to relax with my husband after a tough 2 weeks of my own, however how I was treated by her ruined my evening. I will NEVER bring my business there again or to her other restaurant, Olio. I chose to get my xmas and birthday gift cards from there by family ($200.00). We have celebrated many valentine's, anniversaries and birthdays at her restaurants. I will NEVER again!!! I hope she appreciates Kevin because he was so kind and considerate. I was never apologized to by her but... thank you for our drink. I will bring our business to Daniel Packard or S&P or any other restaurant down the street before going back there. I give it 2 stars for the food which WAS good but Kevin was the best part of...
