A Specialty Bakery — Restaurant in Gulf Shores

My husband and I got married in Gulf Shores exactly 1 year ago. I failed to do a review at the time simply because of all that is going on when you are getting married! However, as we are sitting here enjoying our last piece that was saved and frozen for the 1 year anniversary I just had to share with everyone how wonderful these ladies are! First of all, the cake was definitely a custom design. I e-mailed a picture into Brenda and she worked with me to change it to suit us perfectly. One half of the cake was a navy pilot uniform and the other was a wedding dress. Both sides had such beautiful detail. It turned out absolutely gorgeous! And the taste.. was delicious! It was very flavorful and moist! The fondant icing was perfect! We could not have been happier with our masterpiece! And just to top it off.. we planned our wedding very quickly, the girls worked with me on the time frame as well as delivery! Due to the fact that that I had my reception so close to the bakery, they were able to deliver the cake to the reception site for me! I can't express to you enough how grateful we were to these ladies for helping to make experience so worry free and the cake so amazing! Even a year later, the cake is amazing! They forgot to make my wedding cake. I showed up and it wasn’t made and it took them several minutes to even find the order. The lady wasn’t mean but she made it a point to say “well we barely have any information for you. Not a phone number or anything and you still owe a $25 balance” not the best way to approach a bride on her wedding day when you didn’t make her cake. I believe it would be the responsibility of the person taking my order to get the information they need. As well as why would I pay the balance when you didn’t make my cake lol.

They did make it right and rushed to make me a cake and deliver it to our beach house which I was very thankful for. They also took off the $25 balance.

The cake itself was good. Top tier was butter cake. It was a little dry and not my favorite but the bottom tier was lemon cake and it was amazing !!!

So overall I’m giving 3 stars bc I feel the situation could have been handled better or avoided...

While planning my destination birthday party 300 miles away I was trying to find someone to make the perfect cake for me. I depended on reviews and the internet to make my choice on who would make my cake.

I reached out over Facebook and gave my design ideas. I was assured that they could make it happen.

Brenda called the day before to ensure she had all the details.

I picked a two tier cake with strawberry and butter as my flavors. I provided specialty candy that I was not sure would match.

The cake flavors were perfect and the cake was moist!!!! Brenda added the candy and made it a perfect matching accessory.

The cost of the cake was also very reasonable.

I only had one issue with the cake. I asked for gold drip and provided a picture of the gold I was asking for. They cake had a golden yellow drip. But no big deal it still looked good and I loved it!!!😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

I will definitely use a Specialty Bakery when in Gulf...
