I don't generally like to be overtly negative. After more than a year of avoiding this place due to being charged for food i didn't receive and then being brushed off by whomever i spoke with when i called to let them know what happened. Now, it was $5 worth of food, not a huge deal, but i didn't eat and paid to do so. People make mistakes, but generally managers seek to fix an issue if its brought to their attention. So i return with a reasonable expectation that if i pay for an item, ill receive it. Sigh. The staff are clearly overwhelmed... I'm not sure if it's because of labor cost concerns or what, but the lobby where you place orders was FILTHY.... i found myself picking up paper, cups, various debris because i couldn't stand to look at it. The drink bar where the little trash bins are located were chock-full of lids, spilled drink, napkins both dirty and clean everywhere. Just yucky. When i went to the restroom to wash my hands after picking up, it was littered with an entire soda that'd been dumped in the handicap stall, cups, puddles of (hopefully) water... i popped in for a quick ice cream with my kids around 7 on a Saturday, which i understand is a high-traffic window. They ran out of receipt paper, i got a tiny cone and 2 that were about normal sized. When i got back into line to purchase another cone because my daughter knew her cone wasn't up to snuff, there was no attempt to rectify the flub. I get McDonald's isn't a gourmet restaurant, and that this is likely a first job for many of the staff. Mistakes are human. Im not unreasonable. That doesn't mean cleanliness and quality for what is sold there shouldn't be an area of focus. The trash and general chaos will keep me from coming back, but, hey, maybe it was just another bad day at...

I haven't eaten at McDonald's in years due to the bad food quality..and the food not tasting like..well..real food. So lately I've been reading many stories about how they have improved quality..the food tastes like food again as it did before it went to hell in the 90's..and to come by and see for yourself. Well..I did that tonight..and the food is even WORST than I remember it..and it was so bad that tomorrow morning I am calling their corporate office to get a refund for my order. I ordered a Big Mac, Chicken Nuggets, and large fries. The Big Mac's bread was dry and stale tasting. The hamburger patties were small and without any flavor. The lettuce was wilted. And the special sauce must be really special..because they barely put a teaspoon of it in my burger. The Chicken Nuggets didn't taste like chicken at all..nothing..all I could taste was semi-burnt batter. And the fries? Their most famous food item? Awful. Over cooked..slightly burnt..and dehydrated.
No more McDonald's. This will be my LAST visit to your establishment. If you ever TRULY improve your food..you better offer free coupons to try it because I will NEVER, EVER spend my hard earned money again on this garbage you serve to the public and have the nerve to call "food"..especially when there are other restaurants right across the street from you such as Whataburger and Sonic that truly do serve delicious food. And now if you'll excuse me..I need to find that corporate number to call them in the morning and get my money back for...
Read moreSo now they are taking away customer service. There were a few people a little taken aback and perturbed as well.
So they've put in kiosks and apparently they ONLY want you to try and use them. Of course there is no one waiting in line. IF there is a line at the counter AND you want to use a kiosk then that should be an option. Otherwise if I want someone, like 3 other sets of people said while I was there, to personally take my order then that should be the standard and you the McD's employee not stand there arguing with folks. I just want a burger, a drink, and fries and be done.
So the girl says you need to use a kiosk. I said why there is no one here, you can take my order at the register. About that time a family of 5 came in. They were told the same thing. Guy says not doing it. Basically told the girl the same thing I said. You guys can take my order or we can leave and go somewhere else.
So she reluctantly takes our order and then theirs and then doesnt give any of us cups. Why? Well because we are supposed to now leave the counter and go over to the kiosks, wait there and get a self serve cup, then go and get our drink. As opposed to we're at the counter and just give us a cup. Nope.
I only wish I had filmed this whole thing. Here use our kiosk, take 3 times longer to do so than normal (there is no line), get your own cup and drink and we'll charge the exact same piece for the wonderful experience.
[CEO Easterbrook and other representatives of McDonald's say kiosks aren't a substitute for human workers, but rather a new way to bring the benefits of technology to the fast-food industry. ]
Yeah not going...
