I went to this location after visiting six flags with a group of friends. As an 18 year old who works in the restaurant business I understand the predisposition many servers have when having a table of younger people. But I am a very good tipper for anything between fine and great service. But my visit was extremely disappointing. I gave my server multiple chances and really wanted to understand her off-putting actions. We were sat before 2 other tables of adults, but their food was delivered before we even were asked about appetizers. Which I was able to look past until it continuously happened. We would be sitting there for long periods of time before even being checked on. I of course don’t want anyone to get in trouble because bad days may happen, but educating servers on treating all customers the same is something I have always valued as a restaurant worker. But we continued out our dinner and when we finally were able to order, she messed it up and used profanity under her breathe which under that circumstance was very unprofessional. Then she continued asking what we wanted by going “next” in a very monotone and annoyed voice. She interrupted one of my friends ordering to talk to the hostess about seating another table, but at least gave a courtesy apology after. I do want to highlight she was really good at getting tables turned over fast so I understand she was busy, but we were definitely very low on her priority list. At the end of the meal she hands us the receipt and says for her to be able to split the check, we the customer needs to write what goes to what order, and make sure she gets her pen back. It caught me off guard I have never been put in a situation where I did not have at least an option to get help working out the check splitting. After I did write what order was what she got all of the orders wrong still, which is fine, but it was really hard to get her attention to get it fixed. She finally asked if it was right and when I expressed it was not she had me go up there to fix it, which I wish was the first step. I was sitting labeling that receipt for a while and I still had to go up there. Which usually would not bother me but it was yet another thing. I did the review at the end but did not write my reasoning because I had already been there for far longer than anticipated. She suddenly seemed somewhat angry which leads me to believe maybe she saw I wrote I wasn’t satisfied, I am not positive though. After that I wasn’t comfortable asking her for a box or a chips and salsa to go because she did not ask me, so I asked the manager. Who was very very nice and understanding. She got it for me fast and had a kind and welcoming tone. The manager turned my experience around as much as it could be at that point. Read moreWent here for my birthday tonight with my friends. Just a small party of 3. We got there and were told it would be about a 15-20min wait. We were ok with that but wanted to wait outside so we gave them our party name and phone number so they could send us an alert that our table was ready. 30mins goes by and we’ve seen other people come after us and not walk out. We go back in and after waiting another 10mins by the front door the host comes by and says they’re supposedly clearing a table for us in the back. While they’re clearing a table for us a couple near the front get up and walk out presumably done with their meal. Host comes back up and sees that the table is empty and says oh we’re gonna move you up here instead just give us a minute to clean it off for you. It finally gets cleaned and we sit ourselves down and wait for another 10mins before one of my friends gets up to get us some menus because we’ve ignored since we sat down. Another 5-10mins has gone by and no one has come by to even ask us what we would like to drink or start with. One of my friends gets up and goes to the front to ask for a manager. Waitress comes by finally after several of them have seen us waiting for awhile and gives us a BS excuse and again we ask for a manager. Finally manager comes over and we explain the situation and all he says is “sorry”. Doesn’t try to make it right by offering coupons or a gift card. Just asks if we’d finally like to order to which we politely decline and say we’re leaving. My friends and I go down the street to Taco Bell where we proceed to order $70 worth of food. My friends and I look young but between the 3 of us we have nearly 25 years of customer service related experience. This is not how you treat customers. But, Let’s Be Honest… As Many Times I’ve Been to Chili’s This Has Been the Worst Experience By Far… So, I’m Shopping In the Mall Calls My Mom Asks Her if She Wants to Have Lunch? she Agrees! We Decide On Chili’s Because, The Food, Service, and Overall Dining is Usually Okay With No Complaints. We Get There and is Quickly Seated. Fine! Problem #1- Walking into the Restaurant the Floors are Extremely Sticky… Problem #2- the Base Board that separates the booth literally looked as if they haven’t been wiped down in weeks. I took a disinfectant wipe from my purse n wipes it myself and it had soooo much dust it was nasty. The waitress came and took our food and drink orders. Food came and everything seemed okay until I bite into an under cooked chicken crisper. The waitress came to check on us n I explained to her my problem. I’m guessing the cook didn’t believe me because, she came back and asked for a piece of the chicken because, the cook wanted to see it as if I was lying about my food. Took several minutes and she mentioned that she has to wait until the manager comes to resolve the problem. While my mom and I waited every second we were swatting flies and insects from our face, food, and drinks, it got so bad and annoying to the point we had to get napkins to covered everything. Dining at Chili’s in Gurnee didn’t use to be like this… I like the deals and how convenient it is to my home but, it’s definitely not worth it! The manager never came to the table to apologize or accommodate us for the terrible experience just offered $5.00 from the bill when I feel should’ve been free.
