I had a very unpleasant dinner at Choripán in Hackensack, and honestly, I wish I hadn’t gone. The food is way too overpriced for the quality. We had a table for two and ordered a skirt steak and a chicken breast. The chicken breast was absolutely disgusting — hard to chew, weirdly tough, and just overall unpleasant. I’ve never had chicken like that before; it almost felt old or like a really cheap cut of meat. It tasted horrible and was so hard to chew through that it was actually uncomfortable. Do NOT order the chicken here.
The skirt steak was just okay — definitely nothing special, and I’ve had much better elsewhere. The rice was gross and had a strange flavor that was off and unappealing. They should really specify what kind of rice they serve because it was bland but also had this weird, unpleasant taste. To top it off, the salad was charged extra, which we weren’t told about. The only thing I actually liked were the sweet potato fries. Everything else was really bad.
The bread they bring out at the beginning was stale and cold — not fresh at all. Service was also disappointing. We had two different servers, and neither one checked on us even once after bringing the food, despite our clearly unhappy faces. They weren’t attentive at all. I also noticed the man sitting next to us waited about 15 minutes for service and ended up leaving because no one helped him.
For this awful experience, I was charged $120 — absolutely ridiculous. You’re expected to leave a big tip on top of food that’s this bad and service that’s this inattentive. Honestly, I would’ve rather gone to Texas Roadhouse. I thought Argentine steak was supposed to be amazing, but this was tasteless and disappointing. The chicken was by far the worst — chewy, hard, and just strange. I don’t know what they served me, but it was awful.
Save your money and go somewhere else. I will not be coming back and do not recommend this place at all. And good luck...

Empanadas Buenos Aires Salad Argentinian Grill for Two Grilled Sea Food With Lobster Seafood Mix With Rice
Located on Sussex St near the Bergen County Courthouse is an Argentinian specialty restaurant.
Owner Pablo and his staff introduced me to five of the most popular items on the menu.
Empanadas: These Argentinian turnovers come in five flavors: Beef, Chicken, Caprese, Spinach, Ham & Cheese.
Have one or have them all; the choice is yours!
Buenos Aires Salad: This may be an appetizer, but this salad practically eats like a meal.
My favorite toppings were the avocado and shrimp.
I don’t have an acquired taste for hard boiled eggs; but everything else was perfect.
Argentinian Grill for Two: Although this barbecue is meant for two, it can easily serve three people.
This carnivorous entrée is filled with all of your favorite proteins including skirt steak, blood sausage, Argentinian sausage, and beef ribs.
All meats are cooked with wooden charcoal so it has that authentic hint of wooden flavor.
As a bonus, this entrée is served on a table grill with charcoal.
Grilled Sea Food With Lobster: You won’t need to travel down the shore for seafood when you explore this dish. It has all of your favorite dishes from under the sea.
Seafood Mix With Rice: Here is a variation of the previous entrée except everything is served over a heaping pile of yellow rice.
If you are fan of soccer, this is definitely a perfect hang out spot. The walls are adorned with beautiful wall art and souvenirs praising the highly appreciated international sport.
It was a pleasure exploring Argentinian cuisine in this fine dining establishment.
