Awesome bar! This place has a chill vibe perfect for a solo lunch break, friendly business drink, or a friends get-together. I saw all kinds of people when I popped in for a quick bite. This is obviously a neighborhood spot, but one you can feel comfortable in pretty much no matter who you are or where you are from. The bartender JoJo was exactly what you want in a bartender, eager to get you a beer, give a recommendation, and put your food order in and friendly with conversation if you wanted it. The food is approachable bar food, but not typical food (especially considerinf we were in Jersey). With a Canadian influence, the poutine is delish! With a Mediterranean influence, the lamb burger was flavorful and exactly what I wanted. From typical bar bites to unexpected international snacks, SideBar delivered on the comfortable vibe promised on their website. Highly recommend if you are in the area. Parking is a bit wonky, but worth searching for the spot to pull up to this Hackensack gem.

I went last night to hear the band they had playing and have dinner. I ordered the filet mignon. It came with mashed potato and mixed vegetables. I opted for no potato and just steak and veggies. The steak was cooked to my liking and for the money ($33.00)was a good value. The vegetables were fresh and delicious. My waitress was excellent, she came by often and i never had an empty glass! The band (Sandy Stones trio) was excellent. They played popular covers and had bar patrons dancing and singing along! The bar was full lots of people having a great time. I will go back again!

Spent NYE here. Was an amazing vibe in a small town away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. The people here were all so friendly and nice, it was a party on itself. The bar got a live band in as well and it really brought the roof down. 100% would recommend if you wanted a cold one and watch some sports. Side note: My friend got the Banana Split (in picture) drink, and it tasted like chocolate. Honestly was a weird concoction but try it if you’re up for an adventure

First off, what a cool place. It’s like stepping back in time into a lawyer’s study of sorts. Law books and whatnot, (appropriately across from the court complex), with a sense of “damn…some smart people have been here.”

Awesome and reasonably priced food, with a cocktail list all $14 and under, and a great selection of local beers (wine list too, though I didn’t pay attention to it)!

We kept it simple with poutine to split (delicious and almost shockingly light for a poutine - no meat but a great meaty gravy, pickled jalapeño peppers, and little pieces of melty cheese throughout), crispy chicken for my husband (WOW - super crispy and flavorful and all around amazing for a relatively simple sandwich), and for me a house salad (it wasn’t bagged! and a very generous portion with a great vinaigrette on the side) and the chicken lemongrass potstickers (also delish, super flavorful and fried to perfection).

Beer selection, as I said, was awesome (we had 3 beers - 2 Hackensacks and an Icarus) and the cocktail I selected (Paloma) was in no way short on tequila!

Our waiter was awesome and attentive (shoutout to our waiter and sorry I totally forgot your name!), and we will surely return. So nice to discover a great place that we didn’t know existed but is close enough to home to come back to.

Keep up the awesome work you guys! So happy...

Sidebar please count your days you guys could’ve really done better took forever to get a drink. I had to go to the bar and order a drink, even though I was sitting at a table everybody Passed me and didn’t even give me a menu then finally I see someone and I’m like can I get a menu and she gladly gives it to me order my food but then I couldn’t order my second drink because nobody came to my table. I started to realize maybe I’m not wanted here and just paid my bill and left. If the owner ever reads just look at the video, Hackensack is being very gentrified for you guys to be ignoring money. I have happy hour by myself all the time. This was the worst I have ever had. I want you to know my name I want you to know that I spent $50 and I tipped you $10 even if it was bad service. Cater to your environment not to what you want...
