Pupuseria Las Americas — Restaurant in Hackensack

I JUST ordered a soup that I have order plenty of times from this place…never have had a problem bc there’s ALWAYS a good portion of actual meat and tripa. I got home and there’s just this. I’m not writing a review bc I didn’t like the soup. I just called to ask why isn’t there any meat in the soup like there usually is (I was just ASKING) a man answered the phone who wasn’t there at pick up. I was polite and made it known I don’t want a refund I was just asking a question. He said “maybe you didn’t like the soup or just get a different one bc we have never had an issue with our soups ” and “maybe you got home and ate the meat” he said this in a laughing manner thinking I wasn’t going to catch it, he’s thinking I just want a refund but I said “I did not do that, I have a camera in my kitchen to proof it too” he said he would safe my ticket and ask the person who prepared the soup bc it’s “unusual” for someone to complain. I just didn’t like how he assumed that and try to make it seem I was lying and probably just want money...

The food in this place is pretty good. Their specialty are the pupusas, it's like A thick grilled corn tortilla stuffed with mozzarella cheese, pork, beans or jalapeños with vinegar cole slaw and tomato sauce on the side. They also offer other types of food that are pretty tasty. It's a small place, sometimes there is a wait time. It's a bit hard to find a parking space around this place. In MY OPINION the service could be friendlier from the whole staff. If it wasn't for finding parking and the lack of friendlines, this would be a 4 maybe 5 star...

This is the first time I ordered from Pupuseria Las Americas. I was pleased with the delivery time. I ordered a combo meal of steak, chicken and shrimp. I was disappointed. All I could taste was the strong oil (not sure if it was veg.corn or canola) but it was so oily and strong. The only seasoning I tasted was salt. I was so disappointed because I expected to taste all those wonderful Mexican seasonings, but there were none. I will even go as far to say the oil tasted like it was reused. Portions were generous, but I will not be...
