So technically, I've only eaten here once. BUT, I've had some appetizers from this restaurant so this review is for my overall experience with the food and my visit to the restaurant.
Reservations were easy to make - did them online and we received a confirmation phone call from the establishment the day before (our visit was at the time vaccination cards were still required by restaurants and social distancing was in effect). We arrived on time and within minutes were escorted to our table. From start to finish, our server was attentive and very polite. We were checked on several times throughout our meal and this service added to a great experience.
So the night we visited, we had: Fresh Ahi poke Crispy fried calamari Chamoru Platter
The food was excellent and there was so much of it, we had enough leftovers to create another meal at home.
As for the appetizers I had (leftovers from family members), they were good too!!! I had the kelaguen and the seafood lumpia. Both were delicious!
I lived on Guam for five years before I finally decided to try this place. The only things that kept me away were the price points, the always packed parking lot. I would get mixed reviews (mainly good, but pricing was often thrown into the reviews). With that said, I’m glad I tried this place and I would most definitely come back and recommend them to off-island daily members, friends and tourists. It’s a great spot to try a taste of home, in an elevated casual setting. For me, if I was going on a date, business meeting or small type celebration, I think the pricing is just right. I believe you get what you...
Read moreIt was a busy lunch service and with the Governor having lunch there, it wasn’t as chaotic as it should have been. We got there around 1p and waited only 15 minutes for a table but it took longer getting service to order food. Once we ordered our appetizers, Calamari and Empanadas, it was another 15 minutes before we ordered food. It was all worth the wait. I can see why they are so busy. Thankfully, the doors closed at 2pm as they prepare for dinner service so it made things slow down and we just enjoyed the food experience. I highly recommend the Chamorro and Fiesta platters. Hands down the value for the quality and quantity of food is outstanding. It was like having a chamorro version of a bento box! The hagun suni is a plus! And the kelaguen on the platters is a daily mystery which is cool! We enjoyed the shrimp kelaguen especially with the friend corn Tatiyas! The fusion here is exquisite and although I would have loved to give this a 5 star, the service unfortunately was just shy! 4.5 for sure in my book! Especially with that mystery dessert sampler. Come on now! I haven’t even begun to explain what an explosion of taste I was feeling with that octopus tinaktak! Let me be honest, I have tinaktak at home and I prefer mine to be a little more tangy but never have I ever had it with octopus. Honestly, I probably never will at home because my picky eaters but this was a special treat just for me! Thank you Meskla for an amazing foody...
Read more9/8/2017- Gonna have to recant my former five star rating on here, went in today to get something to eat and I was quite hungry, waitress took a while to just come over and get our drinks. It was lunch, so I know things get busy, we ended up just ordering with our drinks. I ordered one of three of the specials, it took about 10 minutes, my order was wrong but I was so hungry that I ate it as it somewhat matched to the description on the menu so I thought they were serving other parts of it later. Ended up it was the wrong order, apologized to the waitress and said I would just pay for the food I ate. She gave me receipt and asked "is it okay to charge you for the other thing?" I normally am okay, but in this instance I was in a hurry to get somewhere else and not make a scene in a completely full restaurant. Come to find out my wrong order had been for the table next to me, and they had been waiting more than 20 minutes! I also watched as one of the servers tried to give their table my order by mistake. I understand what it's like in the service industry because I do a lot of service at my line of work, but had I been a bad customer, the whole restaurant atmosphere would have been ruined right then and there. I know Guam's customer base and angry customers are a dime a dozen out here, my wife is an angry customer type and I am now dealing with her frustration outside your restaurant, so...
