Nice place. Confusing because it used to be Bulls and Bears, and some of the signs are still there from B&B. We ordered the eggplant bruschetta, stuffed pepper soup, Chesapeake chicken, and crab cakes. The bruschetta was heavy on balsamic drizzle, and drowned out the taste of everything else. It was also $11 for four small slices. It seemed a bit overpriced. The soup looked like chili, but as soon as we had a bite, it was clear it was stuffed pepper soup. It was delicious. My two year old destroyed it. My wife had the crab cakes. She is usually critical of crab cakes. She enjoyed these ones very much. It wasn't overloaded with Old Bay seasoning which is our usual experience in the area. Very meaty, so less filler. She did say the risotto was slightly undercooked, but was creamy and flavorful. My chicken Chesapeake was fantastic. It was on a bed of risotto. Unlike my wife, I thought the risotto was cooked perfect. The chicken, maybe I didn't read the description, but it was breaded and fried. What a great surprise. Also, to whoever cooked it, it can be difficult not to overcook a chicken breast when it is deep fried. The cook was spot on. It then had a crab cake that was on top of that. Again, not much old bay in it. I prefer that. I like to taste the crab. Mine, like my wife's, was very meaty. It has been our experience that places use more breadi g to cut cost. This place did not do that for us. It exceeded our expectations for crab cakes. All of that was topped with a cream sauce, that again, was delicious and paired well with everything on the plate. It really drew it all together. The bruschetta just seemed out of place. It was not priced as properly as the other parts of our meal, and was heavy on balsamic drizzle. The confusion from the signs made it a little difficult to understand we were at the right spot because the entrance is inside of another building. Overall we loved our food, and the prices were reasonable, and the taste of the food made us appreciate our experience. We had a two year old with us that was completely welcomed, even thought the aesthetic has a more classier vibe to it....
Read moreSkip it! We stopped at Vevs”s on a recent road trip because of the rating in the reviews. Very misleading. Our appetizer of stuffed mushrooms was cream cheese with a hint of garlic and a little spinach. They were billed to be feta/spinach stuffed. Onion soup was mainly broth. Salads were awful ( mainly white lettuce) and skimpy. I had tenderloins with feta. Fair at best. Meat never saw a grill. Husband had Vodka bolognese ragu. It was below average. Only redeeming thing was a small piece of bread ( made elsewhere). Our waiter didn’t offer to refill our beverage. Very nice atmosphere for a poor...
