If I could give 0 stars, I would. The staff are incompetent, most of them don't speak English well at all, or understand it. Mobile app may or may not work at this store, depending on if anyone turns on their payment processor for mobile orders (and if you ask them to do so, they act like they don't know how to do it). I've had multiple wrong orders - but only at my expense - they never mess up by giving anything extra- only by leaving stuff OUT of the order or NOT putting extra (paid for) toppings on burgers, etc. They take forever bringing curbside orders out, even with no customers in the store. Several times they've come out, stared off into space for a moment, before taking our order to the wrong vehicle (the spaces are numbered numerically). I've even had to go inside to get my curbside order, because no one ever came out, even after the app says the order has been completed. On two occasions, we've gone to open the door (during normal business hours) only to find it locked because "the manager was eating lunch". I don't know how these people function in every day life, let alone keeping a restaurant afloat. The whole crew needs to be replaced with people who can read order tickets, form full thoughts, and turn those thoughts into a (correct) fast-food order.
Update: it's daylight savings time and this store can't even figure out how to change the time on their machines so I can use the app. The app says they're closed. They are not. ONLY this location. These people are incompetent.
Another update: 3/15/24 App isn't working AGAIN. Either they turned off their machines to lighten their work load or they need to reset it and just don't know how.
Update:6/12/24: ordered 2 sandwiches and 1 med fry, which was clearly printed (in English) on the receipt on the bag. Get home to eat it- no fries. I'm usually good about checking the order before we leave because of the sheer number of mistakes this place makes, but for whatever reason, I didn't think to this time. Of course, no fries. And they get $20/hr. Ha. There've been more mistakes since my previous update but I just haven't made it back here til today. It's constant, but when you have literally $8 to your name and no food at the house, and your stove AND oven are broken, well, you eat what you can. And you expect to get what you pay for.
Update: 6/19/24: 6pc nuggets missing. Clear as day on the TWO tickets on the bag. IN ENGLISH. I know I'm not the only one this is happening to. PLEASE complain when something is wrong with your order. This is ridiculous. Guess there's a reason these people...
Read moreI went into the dirtiest McDonald's I have ever been to, needing to use the restroom and order some food. I went to the cashier to ask for the key and the manager said in broken English " you order meal, pay, then I go and open door for you." Wow! Having a manager of a child hood restaurant chain basically tell me she thinks I'm going to not order any food and just use the bathroom, like I'm a liar, had me in shock. And so what if I was just going to use the restroom. I've been a customer of McDonald's for over 20 years. My parents owned a restaurant and if one of our loyal customers wanted to just use the toilet,we would be happy to let them use it. I explained to this rude employee that I really had to use the bathroom, embarrassing as that was and I couldn't hold it to order food. She rolled her eyes and walked me to the bathroom, unlocked the door and waited outside, like a kindergarten teacher. Having a brain injury I take longer than most. I could hear her laughing to the other female employees, with customers eating right there, about the length of my bathroom usage. I speak and can understand Spanish. Appalled, disgusted and embarrassed, I walked out of the bathroom with her right behind me basically ordering me to no spend my money at her establishment. I looked at her and laughed and promptly called corporate. I went to ask her the store number and she refused as well as the other 4 women there. A very angry female employee said to me with one of the most hate filled expression I have ever seen and said "Bano is for customer only!' I laughed and found the store number on a receipt. What had incurred at that McDonald's verged on sexual harassment as well as very apparent discrimination against a person with a disability. I did film all of this. I will be letting my attorney review it on Monday. Hire people who know the American value of good customer service, not the inferior value that only a billionaire can afford a bigmac. Read moreThis McDonald's only gets a star for its play area. Other than that the manager is very rude and gives off too much attitude to a customer if they have an issue. While I was there they had messed up on my order and she addressed the issue with me with a rude tone of voice and body language. Also while I was there waiting for my order to get correct it I witness her handing out free Mac frappe to a person that she knew that had came into the restaurant without them even paying at the register. I get it sometimes you know someone who works at a place and you may get a free hookup on something but it's not cool when you are a customer that has paid and they mess up on your order and you get a rude response when asking for them to do their job correctly but yet when they have friends come around there all happy-go-lucky all of a sudden instead of giving the same kind of treatment to a paying customer. She can tell me I'll have to wait 5 minutes which turned out to be about 10 minutes for them to fix my order but she takes care of her friend right away who didn't pay nothing. Also if she was more involved with the employees over viewing the work they are doing maybe there'd be less errors , instead later while I was there i saw her come around the counter to sit in the dining area with more people that came into the restaurant that she knew and chit-chatting with them , playing with their baby in the stroller, and not working while she's on the clock, instead of managing her team. Overall would I eat here again probably because it's the only McDonald's in Half Moon Bay. But as for the McDonald's corporation I would definitely look into...
