Gus's New York Pizza & Bar — Restaurant in Hampton

This place is really such a hit or miss. This time around it was such a miss. We ended up getting food poisoning. Not sure if it was from cross contamination or servers or cooks not washing hands properly.

Takeout: I am not a fan of the take out since for some reason the pizza is always cold.

Price: Decent. With inflation, some things seem to have gone up.

Service: service isn’t too bad. We have always been greeted promptly and our food usually is pretty quick. We usually go during after lunch hours right before dinner hours. Only thing I disliked is a server came back from a smoke break and didn’t was their hands.

Cleanliness: The place always seems clean. Tables always seemed wiped, menus not so much. I do like that they have online menus because their restaurant menus look gross sometimes. Bathrooms are pretty clean which to me is a plus.

Food: food itself is pretty decent. Not a New York pizza, but just meh. Portion sizes are ok. At best I’d say their pizza is 5.6/10. My sister has had their meatball sub and she wasn’t impressed. Meatballs weren’t cooked all the way. Center a bit pink. We’ve gotten their cheesy garlic bread also and it’s not bad. Not great but not bad. Tenders and fries are pretty good.

Overall it isn’t a bad place, but not a great place. Some of the recipes seemed to change for the pizzas si to us that was a take back. Been living here for 5 years now and this was out to go place, but now we think we will find elsewhere. Especially after getting...

I’m surprised this location is still open...food is horrible. I have eaten here more than 2z with different items from off their menu and everything I ate was unsatisfactory. I had their salads and the main ingredient in their salad is green peppers and onions, I’ve had their chicken cheesesteak and the sandwich lacked everything., very skimpy on the chicken and too much of green peppers. I think that’s all they know. Now , I’ve also tried their “ signature hot wings””.. ..GO TO SALS NY PIZZA !!! The wings were dry and totally tasteless. I figure let me try something else on the menu ....I ordered a tuna sub and you wouldn’t believe it ..as inexpensive as tuna is they put about a tablespoon on a 6 inch sub loaded with raw onions. I don’t mind the onions but where’s the tuna?? Sadly, the onions overpowered the tuna. I don’t know if it’s different chefs that cook at this particular location but I am totally done with all Gus pizza locations bc this one has failed me numerous times. Lastly, I would like to comment on the young man who picks the phone up and takes the orders..PUT THE PHONE DOWN AND LEARN SOME TELEPHONE ETIQUETTE!!!! You shouldn’t be answering the phones and taking orders bc you in a small way you represent the establishment you are employed by ...therefore it would be beneficial to your employer to know how to take orders over the phone. Too bad I had to give this “den” one star bc they don’t...

We use to order here every week until yesterday!I liked there food my whole family does but service is also a big deal you must treat your customers great to!The girl who took my order was rude from the start! I wanted delivery and she was like ok but a min later she was like no deliveries tonight.I was like ok then never mind.Then we decided we would order to pick up I called back when I told her she seem rude she took my order and said 20 min great.Went to pick up husband came home subs were so wrong my son has serve allergies we never order beef it was all suppose to be chicken.So he called back she was so rude tried to blame me then she was like I will not make both only one!Well wow great customer service! I paid for subs and your telling me no basically I don’t care if your son has allergies you will not remake but one!!!Then my husband asked to speak to the manager he waited and waited he never came so my husband leftWe called back and was able to speak with Mo on the phone he said the girl never told him so this is also the second time she lied!!!Mo was trying to make it right he was I give him that but we are truly upset how everything went we never did get that second sub she only brought one!Mo offered to make things right not sure things will be right or we will go back until she is no longer there since the girl answering the phone taking orders thinks she owns...
