Wong's Chinese Kitchen — Restaurant in Harker Heights

As a combat veteran with two tours in Iraq, there's little I won't eat. I generally despise selective eaters, declaring them spoiled, picky, rotten, or some ugly combination of all three. Therefore, when my wife informed me she was going to pick up Chinese takeout, I paid little mind to the details. Once she arrived home, we each unpacked our food, eager to dive in. It didn't take more than one glance at my General Tso's chicken "soup" to become suspicious. My fears were confirmed with my first bite. Noticing my displeasure, my loving wife asked what it was missing. I replied, "Oh...I don't know...taste."

While humorous, there is some merit to such a statement. The food was quite bland, and the texture rubbery, from soaking in the "soup" I would presume. The fried rice was equally disappointing, also bland and with the most noticable feature being the overcooked egg.

After some deliberation, I made the painful decision to close the lid on both the chicken and the rice. Such a decision was met with protests from my wife, who informed me of the $12 dollar price tag. "I'll happily waste this $12," was my reply.

I now appeal to you, the interested public. Do not let my $12 go in vain. Let my $12 mistake be your learning lesson. Do not eat here. The food is intolerable.

The only regret I have in such a negative post is the knowledge that my review may harm the kind woman who serviced my wife. She was very polite, even offering an extra fortune cookie to our young child. My hope is that she finds success in her next venture, as I'm afraid her current place of employment will be shuttering its doors soon, and THIS is not...

Super disgusting. $6 delivery charge? I should have known when there was a disclaimer "non-refundable" and "the driver's don't give change"..oh yeah and the additional " hour and ten minutes" time frame for delivery. Granted I live not too far from the place and should have just gone myself so it didn't take long but most places that deliver say 30minutes. Why a Chinese joint needs that much time to prepare and deliver food in a city that has a 15minute drive 20 at the most depending on traffic, I have no clue. So the meals I ordered..the chicken lo mein and sesame chicken lunch specials were sorely disappointing. Especially the sesame chicken. What kind of sauce is used???? Yuck! The fried rice simply had some type of liquid poured over it and there were still white rice grains in the midst. There also were NO vegetables in the rice. what ever happened to real fried rice as a side order and not the lazy rice? The two meals added up the $13 but with the delivery charge and tax it came to $22. The delivery charge is ridiculous..and how can they expect tips with that charge and such poor food. Come on...HATE that I wasted $22 on behalf of my family. Can Killeen PLEASE up their game on the Asian cuisine? This city is jaded and misguided about what good Asian food really tastes like. I REPEAT do NOT go here. New management my behind. My first time going here was yesterday. I ordered a Teriyaki chicken and when I got home, I almost died from the amount of salt they put in it and there wasn't anything sweet about the sauce. I called and the lady was very sweet and told me since they were closing, I can bring it back the next day. I did just that. I arrived and was told my order will take 30 minutes, which I had no problem with. After about an hour and I started noticing people who came after me where receiving their orders, I asked about my food. I was told it wasn't ready yet because it takes a long time. (Bull heifing shyt) they acted like they had to goncatch and kill the chicken. So I asked for a refund and the idiot male said no and wanted to argue with me. Terrible customer service!! I ended up telling them to keep the food and I left with my crying baby. This place is definitely not a place I would recommend to anyone.

For a new management, they sure are not acting like it. Almost $15 wasted but like I told them, I can do more by providing a review than having to argue. Disgusting customer service!!! If I could give it a zero rating I would. No apology just absolutely...
