I've had over a year and a half now where I've worked just down the street from this place and it's become one of my go-to lunch places.

The soups and chili are really good. I think I've had just about every burger they make, gyro, and sandwich and so far they've all been pretty good too. Hard to fault their food except for the fries. I just don't like their fries. Your mileage might vary.

I haven't tried all that many of the sides or the desserts so I don't know much about them. I tried a couple of the salads and dinner plates and like them too. I have tried the cookies and the ones I have tried were okay cookies but nothing special.

I don't like their iced tea. It has an aftertaste that suggests to me they use some kind of mix instead of brewing it.

They have been pretty busy during the epidemic. They have figured out how to get a lot of cars through the drive-up window quickly and efficiently.

I don't think you can go wrong here with just about anything. I even had the rib platter one time. Better than your average fast food place. A little pricier too, and you will have to wait a little longer for your food because they don't cook it in advance like most fast food places do.

ETA: 2-18-21 Recent menu changes.

They have added three items to their menu in the last few months that I have tried. They added deep fried macaroni and cheese bits. Tried them. Didn't like them. It wasn't like they poisoned me or anything but I just didn't particularly like them. They have also added bone in and bone out wings. I tried the bone out wings once. Basically chicken nuggets with some sauce on it. The sauce was pretty good but the nuggets were nothing memorable so I haven't bought them again. On the bright side they started offering frozen custard. 50 cents for a cone today. I tried the vanilla. It was good.

They have also taken something off their menu. They used to have sugar cookies. I thought it was their best cookie but apparently it didn't sell very well so they no longer sell them.

2-25-21 Had the shrimp dinner yesterday. Small shrimp overcooked. Won't get it again.

5-9-22 The last month or so I have ordered several ham and swiss sandwiches on rye with mayo. I always specify "not grilled". More often than not, it comes grilled, even though the yellow ticket stapled to the bag says "not grilled" on it.

6-23-22 Menu update. They now have some really good BBQ ribs. Meat just falls off the bone and good sauces. Significantly better than their previous bbq rib offering.

6-1-23 Update. They have added fried cheese curds to their menu among a few other things. The fried cheese curds are really good.

They may have changed suppliers for their bone out chicken wings. They are much better these days than they originally were. Or maybe they just learned how to cook them better. I get them now and then and they are a much better chicken nugget than the average chicken nugget and the sauces are pretty good. I still don't especially like their french fries but just a personal thing I guess. I eat here on a pretty regular basis because they're convenient and the food is pretty...

I normally love the food at Tom and Jerry's, however last week I ordered a gyro combo, dined in and paid over $10.00 for this meal that looked like the pita was not filled generously with the gyro meat. Also the meat was over cooked and crispy. The fries looked like they were freezer burned and then fried as well. You could tell they were old but warm. There was nobody in the restaurant that has ordered but one other customer. They were not busy. I waited over 10 min to receive my food. By the time i got it, I only had enough time to eat it and get back to work. I know that I should've brought it to their attention when I was there but due to the long wait time and my lunch hour ending soon. I called from work, spoke to a manager, explained that my food was not looking like my co workers food, who had ordered the same meal that same day and had it delivered too. The manager made a compromise with me to only charge me 1/2 of what I paid the next time I came back and ordered it again due to me consuming it already and him not being able to see it. I completely understood and felt that was fair. I also took his advice on ordering ahead of time to save time. So today, I decide to order ahead of time, pick up my food through the drive through and drove off with the impression that my order was perfect. I get back to work, park and when i opened my gyro it had onions all over it, when i specifically ordered meat and sauce only!!!!!! I am disappointed immediately, picked the onions off and ate it anyway. The rest of the food was fine, fresh and hot. How do you mess up a gyro with meat and sauce anyway and add onions? I looked at my order slip and it didn't say add onions. It read just meat and sauce only. I don't want any compensation or a free meal but you guys need to get your stuff together because you just lost another customer!!!!!! I am very disappointed and my expectations of your restaurant are very low. So if you want a always fresh, hot generous meal with no mistakes, please take the ride to Uncle Nick's on East State Street. First time coming to this establishment. I first tried to order an item on the menu and was informed they no longer serve it....Question, then why is it still on the menu. 🤔 Next, since they didnt have the item I requested any longer, I decided a BLT (can't go wrong w one of those, right? Wrong) sounded good. Couldn't taste the bacon, it was paper thin, bread was dried out. I ordered a water, which i filled and on the way to the booth noticed it was leaking water, there was a Crack in the bottom of the plastic cup. Left a trail of water all the way to the booth. I got a fresh cup and made them aware there was water and so.ebody could slip and fall. Accident waiting to happen. They never cleaned it up. Another young man came by and I told him and showed him the water. I told him I had informed another employee, he thanked me and said he'd take care of it. Well it's now 30 minutes later and about 8 customers later that I warned to be careful. Im leaving now,.....45 muns later amd STILL water on the floor. Somebody could get hurt and that's also a lawsuit waiting to happen. My husband's Italian beef looked great and the mushrooms were great.
