Cinnamon Bear Bakery & Deli — Restaurant in Harrisonburg

I am not normally one to write reviews but I experienced Cinnamon Bear Bakery & Deli for the first time today. I am a college student who was looking for a chill atmosphere, some coffee, and some comfort food and decided to google Cinnamon Bear before heading this way. I saw that previous reviews were mixed and the common theme was that the food took forever. I arrived at the bakery (it’s a very rainy day) and so the bakery was full of customers so I came in with the expectation of having to wait awhile for my food. I ordered, sat down, started up my laptop and within 5 minutes my whole sandwich, coffee, and cup of soup arrived! I was very pleased with the service, cleanliness, and smiles of the employees that were working. Not to mention an employee helped a customer carry boxes of pastries to her car in the torrential down pour.

We stopped here for breakfast on a long drive from VA to PA on a Friday morning in April. We stopped here because this was a very short trip off I-81, and we saw on these reviews that there were gluten-free options. I had a gluten free breakfast wrap that was delicious! My partner had a (regular) wrap that was also good. We both got coffees and sat in the cafe to eat. This place was very cute, tables were clean, and bathroom was clean. Lots of food options on the menu. I remember seeing a gluten free brownie (and maybe lemon bar) and in retrospect wish I had bought it for a snack later! The cafe was moderately busy with college kids trickling in to eat-in and other people taking their food to-go.

The food here is great. Prices are normal for the area and the coffee is great. Sometimes they make mistakes and quickly fix them. Literally no complaints about the quality of their food and drinks. However, the young girl who works at the register (Aleah) is awful to customers. Impatient and curt constantly. She acts like she hates taking orders and is rude when you take more than ten seconds to order. Considering this happens even on slow days it seems like a personality issue. Everyone else we have talked to here has been incredibly patient and friendly, they're perfect. We love coming here, but time and time again her attitude has ruined what would have otherwise been a perfect morning. We were inclined to write a review just...
