J-Petal Cafe — Restaurant in Harrisonburg

I wouldn’t recommend trying this place out, I only have two stars because the crepes were acceptable and they looked good Poke: one of the worst I’ve ever had, I got the large for 18$ and got two salmon and one crab, it had 14 little pieces of salmon, I really thought it was a joke that that was two portions it was barely enough for two bites of salmon. The plate was just full of rice and sauces and covered with tempura flakes. If I’m honest it’s not even worth 5 dollars. Look at the photo and see. Crepe: looks good tastes not bad but I was so disappointed with the poke i wasn’t able to enjoy it. The staff: the guy was very nice and seems to know what he’s doing, the lady was very unprofessional and sketchy using her hands with the gloves on to check her phone and fix her cloths the cutting the avocados without changing her gloves. It was clear that didn’t want to be there, add to that that she seemed to be training a new person (I hope she doesn’t teach her to be like her) All in all I definitely won’t be back again and I wouldn’t recommend trying it out even though the photos may look good, or just get the crepe DEFINITELY DONT...

This place has so much potential. It started with a really very nice guy taking the order, but then the execution was nothing short of a disaster. It took 35 minutes to get the 3 items we ordered. This was mainly due to the curly haired staff on the rolled ice cream station, which seems to be more interested in flirting with each other than making the orders as they come in. The girl was just handing out ice cream to whomever stood there, laughing and joking with her colleague. She did not care if the people she gave ice cream to came in first or last. That was a joke and soured what could have been a great dessert evening. Also, hairnets would not be a flaw. The manager was, I think, not aware of the chaos. The rolled ice cream and crepes were good, but if it takes over 30 minutes to get your order with 5 waiting customers in the store when we ordered, that's bad. And one more recommendation, let customers know if you are out of berries when they order, not when they get their order and just add something else and tell them it...

I live 4+ hours away and when we visit Harrisonburg, we always make sure we stop here. I was disappointed this time.

We ordered the j petal special, the beef crepe, and the j petal cocktail. All of them looked amazing. The sweet crepe lived up to expectations.

The savory crepes were disappointing. There was no cheese on my beef crepe, and when I asked I was told they don't make them with cheese anymore. So, why would that be on the menu, then? The j petal special...the beef was inedible. It was so fatty that it couldn't be eaten. The beef was cold on both crepes. I brought all of the issues up to the workers and was told they would work on it. I was hoping I could leave this review saying that they remedied any of the issues, but they didn't.

I no longer care about coming here. $41 for 3 crepes and only one of them didn't disappoint. Edit: My card was charged $49. I left a cash tip, too. So, $50+ for 3 crepes... I'm not happy. O wasn't given a receipt, either, so I can't even figure out what all I was...
