I took my family for a dinner at this place. The food at this place is generally good. Butter chicken was very good, Chicken Tikka dish we ordered was burnt... (i was suprised they served it to begin with). However, when we brought it to the servers attention, she ignored us and walked away. When we tried to get her attention again, she fussed and walked away. To say the least, the customer servicein this restaurant is awful and rude. The server does not know anything about serving clients. The restaurant ended up not charging for the burned dish, but the check was thrown at us! You decide if you want to eat at this place. If you ask me, my dinner and my mood was ruined.

I was traveling from Virginia to North Carolina with my parents, and since they can’t eat anywhere but Indian food, we decided to stop by Taste of India. Even though we arrived just 4 minutes before closing, the staff—especially the ladies—were incredibly kind and helpful. They gladly took our order without any rush or hesitation, which really touched us. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of authentic flavors. It honestly felt like a home-cooked meal away from home. Their hospitality and kindness made our visit extra special. A true must-visit for anyone who loves Indian food or is traveling through the area!

While the exterior of this restaurant looks nondescript, it is beautifully decorated inside with traditional elements. The food was out of this world. We ordered the sample appetizer platter and the garlic naan to start with. I ordered a dish with lamb that's marinated for 24 hours and my taste buds were singing the hallelujah chorus - spices were on point. My husband ordered a chicken curry dish which was rich and delicious. The wait staff are friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend dining in for a date night or a to go order for a delicious night in!

I had a chance to visit this restaurant on July 23, 2022 with my wife and I would have definitely rated it 5 stars without any doubts had it not been for one reason. They had good ambience, very tasty naans ( I tried Aaloo and Garlic naans) and Malai kofta. My friend who ordered chicken tikka masala was also very happy with the taste. Now I will speak about what spoiled my experience there. I had ordered Karahi Paneer there which was mentioned as chef special. I had asked it to be spicy at the level of 4 out of 5 expecting it to more than medium spicy. What came to my surprise was a horrible dish which was looking like few paneer (cottage cheese) pieces dipped in super super hot red chilly curry. The amount of chilly in that was not possible to to be consumed by any human. I wondered what it would had been had I ordered it spicy at the maximum (5) level. Also, the dish is expected to have lots of other vegetables like bell peppers, onions etc which were although available in the dish but in very little quantity. The gravy was very dilute with all chillies dissolved in that. Also, I don't know when these restaurants would understand that chilly is not the only spicy found in the world. When somebody is asking for spicy food, it is not just the chillies which you overwhelm his food with. This one thing spoiled my complete experience of dining there even when other dishes were reasonably good and I would have loved to rate them 5 had they done that dish right. The staff also should be able to explain to the guests what they mean by there range of spices. I have a taste for spices and mostly I am the last one among my friend circle who would ever complain about more spices in food but what they served to me two days back lingered on to my tounge for hours as a bitter experience and caused headache and sickness to my...

Just now! had the pleasure of dining at Taste of India in Harrisonburg, and I must say, it was a culinary revelation! The butter chicken, garlic naan, and rice were absolutely amazing - each dish was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The garlic naan was particularly noteworthy, with a delightful balance of savory and aromatic flavors.

What truly sets Taste of India apart is its ability to surprise and delight even the most discerning palates. For us, it was the most amazing surprise we've had in food in the last year. The restaurant's cozy atmosphere, beautifully decorated with traditional elements, adds to the overall dining experience.

We're not just visiting Harrisonburg for the Costco trips anymore; Taste of India has given us another reason to look forward to our trips. With its excellent service, generous portion sizes, and mouth-watering dishes tailored to your spice preference, this place is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine.

TESTING INDIA FOOD on Route 81. MUST STOP !!!!

If you're driving along Route 81, this place is a must-stop destination. It's a short detour that rewards you with incredible food and warm hospitality. And to sweeten the deal, there's a Costco gas station right next door, so you can refuel both your car and your appetite in one go.

If you're a fan of Indian cuisine, this restaurant is a must-visit! The naan was nothing short of perfection—soft, fluffy, and with just the right touch of charred crispness that made it irresistible. Whether you dipped it in the rich, creamy malai kofta sauce or enjoyed it on its own, every bite was a delight.

Speaking of malai kofta, it was a star dish! The soft dumplings melted in your mouth, bursting with flavorful spices, and the silky, spiced gravy was pure indulgence. It was the perfect blend of sweet and savory, with an aroma that made it hard to resist finishing every last bit on the plate.

The harmonious pairing of naan and malai kofta proved to be a match made in heaven, leaving us craving for more. Add to that the warm hospitality and inviting ambiance, and you’ve got a culinary experience worth...
