Rock N Crab Kailua Kona offers a unique, memorable, and enjoyable seafood experience. Their menu, which includes dishes such as shrimp po' boy, mozzarella sticks, chicken nuggets, sweet potato fries, seafood fried rice, and the popular boil, caters to various palettes and dietary preferences.
The service Zach was our server and he guided us through the menu. He greeted us with a smile and made sure that we were well taken care off and informed about how to order. He came to our table often to either check in on our food or to see if we needed something else. This restaurant is very lucky to have this young gentleman as he is eager to meet customers and makes sure that your experience is pleasant and unforgettable.
The decor The decor is really fun and vibes with the crab theme. The look is very industrial and there are lots of picture opportunities to showcase cool backgrounds. The decor provides ample opportunities for customers to share their experiences on social media.
The food We were seated quickly and our food order came out in about 10 minutes. Everything was flavourful and so delicious! We ordered the shrimp poi boy ( came with this super yummy sauce), mozzarella sticks, chicken nuggets with sweet potatoe fries for our little one and the crab and shrimp boil.
The boil: The boil comes in a huge plastic bag. The combination of potatoes, shrimp, crab, corn and garlic butter creates this very flavorful dish. It was easy to eat but the restaurant provides gloves, a disposable bib and plenty of napkins in the event that things get messy. They have different spice levels so make sure to ask.
We ordered way too much but wanted to try their seafood fried rice so we got that to go. Everything was so delicious. Cant wait to come back with clients and friends and get one of the boils. Recommended if you like seafood beyond just the...
Read moreEverything I tried to do or order was not available. This place is fairly new and I've had odd experiences. The first time I tried to eat here they were out of propane and not serving food. Not fair to rate that visit. Next time went for lunch and ehhh.... Everything was drowning in oil and grease. Today, I walked in by myself and asked to sit at the counter of the bar. No, it's closed... Huh? It's the center piece of the restaurant. Ok, well I guess I will sit at a table for 4 by myself. I was in the mood for oysters in the half shell. I inquired where the oysters were from... The waiter said " The Ocean". I asked about my favorite oysters and was met with a blank stare then assured that these were really large. Not what I wanted to hear so I figured I would pass and select something else. Sea Scallops, one of my all time favorites and how I rate restaurants on the higher end. The menu had three different dishes of Scallops but they were all deep fried. No! But then I see Seared Scallops MP. The waiter said I have to order a pounds worth and that's a crazy dollar and amount to have to order for lunch. I asked for a half order? No! Okay... Well there is Clam Chowder... So I order Clam Chowder in a bread bowl, he says no problem. Great! No... He returns and recounted the order as a bowl of clam chowder? No! I want an order of clam chowder in a bread bowl... He said No! I give up... My advise is don't go by yourself unless you are a power eater. Be prepared to swim in oil and grease and bring a...
Read moreThis is classy, wonderful place to dine with friends and family. Family owned, I was enticed by the fantastic aroma the second I entered the bustlelly, crowded restaurant. Lots of lively chatter assailed my ears as my family of 6 were guided to our table by a charming host. A new restaurant, the atmosphere was lovely 😍. As soon as we sat down my daughter exclaimed, "I feel like I'm in Waikiki!" But we're in KONA! The host told us they own another place in Kona (Sakura) and they love this town. We were gobsmacked at the menu. Lots of choices, the average price is $16-20. Mainly seafood, there were other basic choices for picky eaters like my granddaughter who lives on chicken and fries. Our eyes eventually turned to the back of menu where we discovered PLATTERS! They seemed expensive, but we decided that the largest one with lobster was enough for the rest of us so we went for it. OMG! Crazy delicious 😋 and the only thing left were empty Crab shells and shrimp tails. I have to say, this was one of most satisfying meals I have shared with my family. The damage was a little over $350 (tip included) with drinks and a side or two. About $50 a person. All in all, a totally exceptional experience. Will we do it again?...
