We loved this place at first & kept trying to support this place but it has gone downhill & consistenly has disappointed me. For starters, they serve Aloha Shoyu with their sushi. I have NEVER seen that before. They don’t serve it with proper sushi shoyu. Secondly, I placed an order online once. I SPECIFICALLY said in the notes, “NO wasabi or ginger” for my order because it was for my daughter. I opened it up and they had stuck ginger & wasabi in there. Why is there a section for notes if you DON’T check it. I walked back in & they took it out. Another incident. We did take out a couple weeks ago. I ordered my daughters usual Tekka Maki & a North Beach roll. We got all the way home and my order was wrong, AGAIN. North Beach is supposed to come with ahi, imitation crab & avocado inside with tobiko on the outside. There was NO imitation crab inside and there were all different types of fish in it. Salmon, ahi & no clue what else. I called them & they said I could get a replacement but I was not going to go all the way down there again so they took my info down so they could give me another one for the next time. Well, today we ordered sushi again & got my daughters usual plus the replacement North Beach roll from last time. My fiancé picked it up and brought it home. We opened up the boxes to find this super weird grey-ish colored ahi. Very WEIRD color. I told my daughter & fiancé not to eat it and I called them. They insisted that the ahi was fresh & that it was just picked up today. I told them I have lived in Hawai’i all my life and have NEVER seen grey ahi in my life. They insisted again that it is a different cut of the fish and fresh. My fiancé also reached out to the owner & still insisted it’s okay. They asked if we tasted it & I said “NO, because it looks weird!” They didn’t seem to offer a real solution & felt they were right. They also don’t understand very well so it got frustrating trying to make them understand. I even showed my friend a picture & her fiancé is a chef & said “DO NOT EAT IT! Take it back!” We also googled & if ahi is grey looking, it is a sign of spoilage & SHOULD be bright pink or red. We will never support this business again. Please see my pictures for reference if you are curious. If you do order there, just don’t...
Read moreI really like this place! Really! The servers are very nice and always happy. Susan works so hard that she forgot my name. This place is so Ono (tasty) that I forget my own name as well when eating here. I dont blame her. She had her food break before me. That is how good the food is! The food is amazing you forget your name! This place is opened past 9pm and closes at 11pm. 3 whole hours to go someplace and eat after work and what a better place to choose for healthy good tasting food to eat at? I go to Seans Kitchen. First time there i had Salmon Teriyaki, second time Seans Ramen. Never disappointed. The roast pork was so juicy and nice cuts. The fat went into the broth. I slurped up every last drop! Then i forgot i was on Earth. I was in heaven. I had Julies roll and still im trying to find Julie to thank her. It was a spicy tuna with tempura shrimp and it was delicious. With those crunchy batter thingys on top. Sooooo delicious i had to reorder my birth certificate to find my name because this impacted me hard on how delicious it was. Soooo, if you want to taste heaven, forget your own name and just focus on deliciousness. This is the place to go! Seans Kitchen is da bestest in...
Read moreThis was by far the worst dining experience I had during my entire trip to Hawaii. From the moment we entered, there was an unpleasant smell in the restaurant. We were informed that the establishment does not have a liquor license but that we were allowed to bring alcohol from outside — a clear indication of how unprofessionally things are run here.
We ordered two lunch specials, which we were told are served entirely at the owner’s discretion. The first roll contained imitation crab and avocado, while the second roll consisted solely of minced onions — no fish, no substance, just onions. Despite the poor quality and inconsistency, I paid the full bill and even left a tip out of courtesy.
I wasn’t expecting a Michelin-starred restaurant, but I did expect the basics: cleanliness, consistency, and decent food. The only reason we ended up here was because my child was really craving sushi, and due to time and location constraints, this seemed like the only option. Unfortunately, this place failed to meet even the most minimal standards, and for the first time in Hawaii, I walked away from a meal feeling frustrated and deeply...
