Local Vibe – 5 Stars Snow Island is one of my go-to spots in Kona — and honestly, it’s the kind of place you start recommending to everyone. Their shaved ice is unreal. Super soft texture and loaded with local-style flavors. But what really makes them stand out is that it’s not just about dessert. Their sandwiches are on point — fresh, tasty, and super satisfying. Came here twice, our first experience was delightful. The bingsu was great and so were the donuts. Our second experience was disappointing, the girl in the front didn’t greet us & seemed upset that we were there at 6:00pm even though the hours say they’re open till 7. When we ordered our bingsu she didn’t ask us if we wanted it to go or for here like the previous girl did.
