1000% do not go here, my girlfriend and I both threw up within 30 minutes of leaving the restaurant. I have never written a bad review before but this needs to be said. I'll start my saying our server, Isiah, and our chef, Christian, are not to blame for this bad review and should not be punished whatsoever as they gave my girlfriend and I great service and were as accommodating as possible. Whoever is in charge or choosing the fish and determining what is fresh and what is too old to use, is definitely at fault. We ordered one miso soup, one roll, three orders of sushi, an order of baked muscles and an order of shrimp tempura. The fish on the sushi wasn't bad, but something was very strange about the rice, it had a very off-putting sour taste to it that carried throughout every single dish. The Eel on top of the dragon roll had a jelly like texture, as well as a rotten smell and taste. The baked muscles were about 90% imitation crab and 10% muscles, but actually didn't taste bad. At this point I asked for the manager, and brought our concerns to her attention. She continued to tell me that that's just how they make the food and all she could do for me was give me a 10% discount on the bill. That didn't seem too unreasonable so I said thank you and continued to try to finish the last plate on my table. Then to top it all off the first/last bite I took of the shrimp tempura had a deep fried hair in it... as I pulled the piece away from my mouth, I noticed a hair dangling from the inside of the tempura. When I pulled it off the shrimp you could see it was visibly deep fried with small bits of badder still connected to it. I immediately called for the manager again. When I showed her the DEEP FRIED HAIR THAT WAS IN MY FOOD, she placed it in the palm of her hand and examined it right in front of my face, as if she thought I was making it up. About 10 seconds later when she realized that there was an actual DEEP FRIED HAIR IN MY FOOD, she left to "make a phone call". 10 minutes later she came back saying that because of the hair in the food she would take the shrimp tempura off the tab but nothing else could be done. I paid the bill in full as well as a large tip for the server, and hoped to put the HORRIBLE experience behind me. However, about 20 minutes after I got home I found myself running to the bathroom to throw up the rotten food I had eaten, and before I left the restroom I could hear my girlfriend doing the same thing outside on the patio. I'm writing this review immediately after throwing up and I will most definitely be returning to the restaurant the minute they open tomorrow to speak with a manager. I want my money back. I REFUSE TO PAY $60 FOR A RESTAURANT TO GIVE MY GIRLFRIEND AND I BOTH FOOD POISONING!!! Absolutely terrible experience I rate this 0-100 I could not give it a worse review if...
Read moreEDIT: Recently service, although done with a smile and friendly as can be has been quite a bit worse. Last two times my wife and I have visited order's have been messed up and taken extremely long. This last visit on 1/19/22 I never received my main meal, but was billed for it. My wife had the wrong thing delivered which we unknowingly ate. Food was good. When we asked for the bill, thinking maybe we just forgot to order or maybe it just wasn't put in, we saw that we were in fact being billed for it. We told our server and she quickly tried to fix the ticket. I left without dinner an hour after our order. Mistakes happen, I can understand that. But other than not charging for it no compensation or way to fix this was offered. She was a lovely gal and all but that was not the service I've come to expect out of this place. And unfortunately that has become a common thread in our recent visits. I have to reduce the stars till it gets better again.
As someone who was raised with great Asian and Hispanic food from a young age, I appreciate the flavor and the appeal to having a fairly high quality hibachi in Hayden.
First things first. The food is very good quality. North Idaho is not really known for great Asian food. No offense to any one, but I stand by that statement. Many people up here believe that places like Panda Express are authentic cuisine.
Sushi here is excellent in quality and, let's be honest here, hibachi eating is where a lot of the fun of this resturaunt resides. If possible always try to eat at the hibachi or grill.
Service is excellent considering they have only been open a short time here at the hayden location. As with all new resturaunts and locations you know this should only improve with time.
My only two complaints are as goes: location and pricing.
Location is fortunately and unfortunately located almost directly across from Hayden's city hall. The parking lot is, unfortunately, difficult during busy road times to get in and out of. Though not much can really be done about that.
Pricing is something I choose to include in my reviews as I feel it relevant to the average customer. That being said I must say this: For the quality and authenticity of the food you receive, I feel it is worth the price.
Just be warned, or keep in mind, that lunch prices are an amount more inexpensive than dinner for almost the exact same dish.
These complaints however have not detered me from being a repeat customer and I will continue to be so long as the quality and standards of the resturaunt are kept up. Great job Fuki. I look forward to my next visit.
As with all my reviews I will change them based on future experiences, and will try to keep them as up to...
Read moreI came in with a big group for a Christmas party. We called and made reservations a week in advanced but still weren't seated on time. After we were seated we were greatful they arranged two grills along side eachother so we could all fit in one group. However that started more issues. Our orders were all mixed up and the chef didn't have the right food. Both chefs started nearly the same time but after just a few mins one of the grills ran out of propane and went cold While Cooking. After about 15 - 20 mins of adjusting we were finally back up and running. At that point the other chef was nearly done so ours was playing "catch up" and didn't do any of the normal entertainment. While we were stuck waiting for the grill to be fixed half the party got an entertaining show while the other half of us had a rushed cooked meal with zero entertainment. At the very begining of the night we let them know we would all be on one tab but any alcoholic drinks would be on our own separate tabs. Once the night was coming to an end we noticed that they not only charged the "large party gratuity" on the main food check (which we knew and was perfectly fine with) but our separate drink tabs were also required to pay the 18% as well. When I asked the person that brought me my bill why I was being forced to tip on a 2 person beer tab he said he would ask someone to come over to talk to me. I was talking to 6 to8 people in my party when a lady started yelling at our group "who has a problem with our service charge!?, who !?" Our party went completely silent as she tried to shame me for asking questions. Paying a forced $10 tip on our 4 bottled beers was wild to me, but the way the manager handled the situation was even more disturbing and unprofessional. All she could say was it was a "system thing" and noone would be able to change it. I will not go back to this location and advise others to avoid as well due to the very unprofessional management. Food was okay however my husband and I both had bad gut cramps and the poops after eatting here. Possibly due to the grill issues or the expired beer they served then tried to say it was a "bottled date"...
