Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — Restaurant in Hays

If I could give zero stars I would! Ordered on the app and went to pick order up and guy at drive thru tells me they are out of cheese curds that I already paid for! I asked for a refund and instead the manager on duty tells him to give me a card for a free combo next time I’m in! Problem with that is it was expired! Then he practically throws drink and food out the drive thru and starts to shut the window! I said uh what about the ice cream I paid for? So then he hollers across the lobby and asked if the ice cream sitting there was for the app order! He then tells me to pull forward cause they have to remake it! Pull forward and sit and wait for almost ten minutes and he brings it out and hands us soup for ice cream because I’m assuming they didn’t remake it since it was so melted! No straws for drinks, no napkins, and no spoons for ice cream! And the worse part is the food we got is now cold because we sat so long! Filed complaint online and got an email from who I assume is district manager completely ignoring the issue of charging me for something and not getting it! Tells me they want to make it right and asks for my address so they could send me hopefully not expired cards for our next visit! And to no shock totally ghosts us when we reply with our address! Manager of this store has also done this before so not shocked at all! SO BEWARE IF YOU ORDER ONLINE YOU RUN THE RISK OF PAYING FOR SOMETHING THEY DON’T HAVE AND THEY WILL NOT...

On a roadtrip where there are no places to stop at sometimes its hard to find good food and you kinda take what you can get. Well i was looking for a quick bite and remembered hearing about Freddy's and i was happy to find one in the middle of our way to Kansas City which made me so excited

Food: i ordered the California Style Burger with Fries and the triple burger with Onion Rings. Wooow this was sooo much better than I expected! The burgers seemed to be handmade and thin but the flavors was so good, the fries were tasty, and the onion rings were cooked through all the way and crispy on the outside which made it perfect!

Service: The service was amazing which isn't always the case at fast foods which made it so pleasant. SEAN gets all the praise! He was so friendly and helpful when we asked about some of the items. The bathrooms and eating area were very clean which is nice specially during these Covid times.

Overall an amazing experience and would definitely recommend!! And can't wait to look for another...

Traveling as a family of 4 from Colorado, on our way home, we stopped in just before closing time. The service was amazing! The bathrooms were very clean and the food was hot and delicious. My husband was so tired after a long day of driving, as he was handing our kids their meals, he dropped the tray and spilled our food on the floor. Without us even asking, one of the servers was cleaning it up and ordering us another burger and fries on the house. As someone who worked in fast food as a teenager in the 90s and has traveled all across the US and have eaten at hundreds of different restaurants over the last 2 decades, I’ve not seen this kind of service since my glory days where excellence was not only taught but expected. This Freddy’s blew me away with not only how fresh the food tasted but also how kind and welcoming their entire staff was to us weary travelers. Well done!
