Shrimp done right.
Sometimes you find a place with food so fresh that it just feels right, that was my experience today at the new Bubbakoos Burritos on Rt 35 in Hazlet. After days of friends saying, you NEED to try it out, today we visited. The first sign that I was on the right path was the faces of those inside enjoying their meal, smiling, laughing with the sounds of “you should taste mine” followed by “No, you need to try mine” it made me wonder why it took almost a week to make my way through the Bubbakoo doors. The friendly staff and upbeat vibe were infectious with happy employees that are genuinely interested in making a meal that brings a smile to your face. The sweetest woman, Erika made my shrimp soft taco exactly the way I requested but went the extra step to suggest some flavors I wouldn’t normally add, and her recommendations brought it to 11.
The sides were ideal, buffalo cauliflower with just enough kick to ensure that flavors will last the afternoon, tater tots which brought back memories of grammar school (and Napoleon Dynamite).
My husband truly enjoyed A Nashville Hot Chicken Burrito (which he didn’t share), and when I looked away, he dug into my shrimp tacos. As we sat listing to the laughter of those around us, we watched as others sat at tables nearby and we planned what we would have on our next visit and the one after.
The menu caters to everyone with meat, fish, chicken as well as Keto, Vegan, Vegetarian, kids, and students options I know that I can take my children and their friends there with plenty of options.
Delicious food served fresh, fast, and filling check it out and trust me when I say, make sure you add Love Chips to the menu, you can...
Read moreProvided the service is good this location for Bubbakoo’s is an absolute 4-5/5, depending on if you are ok with spending about 20ish dollars for a lunch meal. Unfortunately I have had recent service issues with 2 associates, the first a woman with a southern accent who does nothing but try to rush me through my order, trying to ask the toppings I am unsure of before my burrito has even been started and having me pay before hand too(this one is less of an issue but no one has ever has me pay before hand before) and another woman with a ponytail who has extremely rude mannerisms, being visibly upset when informed at the register that I had payed already and instead of asking for here or to go, only offered a to go bag and when I stated I will be eating in forcibly slid the burrito to me and did not offer a plate. I have not had issues with any other associate, male, female, or otherwise so a coaching session for a select few associates would do wonders. Again, outside of these recent issues this location is top notch and even with my recent issues the food has and always...
Read moreThe rudest people I’ve ever encountered with! I ordered online (ONE BURRITO BOWL) i waited 15 mins to pick it up, as this was the time the app told me it would be ready. Upon picking up my order i was told “it was not ready yet, it would be another 10 mins” I replied… “10 more mins?” Gabriella G’s response was “WELL it’s such a large order (keep in mind it was ONE BOWL) and i have people waiting in line” (2 people to be exact) all while slamming things all over the place and throwing metal containers. So i waited, while getting side eyed and laughing from other customers because she was acting so erratically. After about 5 mins she realized my order was already done & sitting on the counter (getting cold) when i finally got home (i live about 3 mins away) my food was cold, i had to microwave it. Management, i think you need to re-evaluate your staff. Customers, take the extra 5 mins drive down the road...
