Perkins American Food Co. — Restaurant in Hemlock Township

Normally Perkin's is a nice choice for they seem to have a consistent standard of good food and service.... maybe this was an off day was seated quickly Waited a bit longer than normal maybe 10 minutes for waitress to come placed order for food and coffee and water. 10 minutes later coffee pot tossed on table no coffee cup then five minutes later was given 2 glasses of water (I was a solo) asked for a coffee cup....waited then coffee cup was plopped on table and off she scurried. Had no utensils there were only three packets of sugar which was fine for first cup though I still had no spoon to stir ( used straw from water) food arrived. Very unskilled waitress was carrying more plates than she could handle just about dumped my plate in my lap I went the grab plate extremely hot (probably under heat lamp too long) she then scurried over and gave plates to neighboring table asked them if they needed anything else and as she passed me I said excuse me but could I please have utensils she didn't acknowledge but did come back quickly I mentioned I would would need more sugar and she said " of course" and did come back with the sugar.....I had order the California Benedict fruit bowl and banana nut muffin.... muffin was cold butter hard, the smallest sliver of avocado I had ever seen was on just one of the egg Benedicts....about half way through my meal the bill was just placed on my table never asked if everything was ok or if I wanted anything else....at check out had to wait while waitresses figured out how much of a tip was needed to be split between three of them I guess on a take out or something ( it worked out to 1.67 each with a penny left over and literally they didn't know what to do about the penny!) once that was resolved I presented my bill was not asked "how was everything or even told thank you" just you slide your card over there.....this was my absolute worst experience I ever had ....hope it was just a busy off day for Perkin's however I know I will not return to this particular one...

As a franchise, Perkins is an excellent place to grab a bite to eat after a long day driving OTR. However, this one was the worse. I ordered the Pot Roast melt, and when it finally arrived, it barely had any meat. After having to flag my server Charlotte to the table, she reluctantly sent it back to the kitchen to have it corrected. I think the host returned with my sandwich with the as advertised portion of meat in it. After finishing my meal, I noticed that Charlotte never returned to check on me, as all servers do. Then after waiting 15 minutes upon completion of my meal, Charlotte hadn't returned with my check. Hence, I went to the counter and requested that I pay, mentioning what I had ordered. THEN out of thin air appeared Charlotte handing the cashier my check, then just like that she disappeared. Wanting a slice of their cake, I requested the cashier to add a slice of chocolate cake on my tab. Deciding against rewarding Charlotte's lack of paying this customer the minimum standard of attention, I paid without a tip. Oh but wait it gets better. After my receipt came out and the cashier went to the back for my chocolate cake, she didn't returned in the amount of time it would normally take to cut, place in a container, and return. Losing my taste buds at that point, I chose to walk out totally discouraged from returning. A few side notes, though Charlotte was the only server, there were only 3 tables being served in her area on this Sunday night around 5:30 p.m. Not a good look for this Perkins. Customer service 101 needs to be a requested course for those who are lacking in it at...

If I could put 0 stars I would. Came here this morning for family breakfast before I move away. The two young hosts, Ava and Bridget, were extremely rude from the start, staring and talking about us right from the start with menus over their faces right next to our table so we could here them. I then asked for a high chair because I wasn’t aware my parents were bringing my niece. The host, bridget, stated “i’m no” then i asked why and she said it was a safety hazard at the table. She then moved our tables, and didn’t give us a chair for my step-mother because she was in the bathroom. I stated that she was in the bathroom (and she knew our step mother was there as they wouldn’t stop staring at them walking in). She then slammed the menus down and whispered under her breath several nasty comments and i said “you have no right to be so rude to us” and she said “then leave feel free to leave.” so we left as her and ava continued to make nasty comments to us as we were exiting. We had to ask for a manager. I’ve never had a bad experience at a restaurant like this. It made me so uncomfortable and upset. I will never visit back to this perkins because of how nasty we were treated by the hosts. I feel bad our server missed our business because of these young girls. Time for retraining because this was no way to...
