Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Hempfield Township

I can’t say enough about the Applebees’s restaurant and their appreciation for the military on Veterans Day. I enjoyed a wonderfully delicious free meal with my family and a $5 gift card to use on a future visit. They had the American flag and all the other branches of service flags prominently displayed in the restaurant. The staff all wore veteran’s appreciation shirts and the manager delivered the gift cards to the Veterans. Besides all of that the food is always great. Just an awesome place to eat.

Wanted to update and share my love for the skillet meals. I know they are only back for a limited time, but I think Applebees should bring them back permanently.

20230626 Had the Lemon Chicken on the 2 for $25. Really great menu item.

20231022 Lemon Chicken is now 2 for $28, but still worth it, my favorite menu item.

20231227 Had the classic cheeseburger and fries along with the spinach and artichoke dip with chips appetizer. Always great food and service.

20240207 Took advantage of the limited time offer all you can eat shrimp, ribs and wings. It was great and so was Heather our server.

20240918 Took advantage of the cheeseburger special being national cheeseburger day. The cheeseburger and the service I received from Jensen was perfect.

This review is being given based on a dine in experience and as always will be based on observations and facts like with all reviews that I do.

We were greeted quickly by Matt who was courteous, professional and expedient to greet and seat us. Him and our server Katie made us feel very welcome.

Our server Katie was very friendly, has a great personality and tons of smiles and respect she gives to folks. She was expedient and has a great attitude and work ethic.

My silverware was dirty so make sure you double check your silverware. Katie was quick to get another set of silverware that was clean upon inspection.

I ordered the 12 ounce medium well done sirloin, mashed potatoes and broccoli. The steak is not overseasoned, but seasoned just right and tastes really good. The mashed potatoes are also very good. The broccoli is tasty, steamed and fresh. The meal was delicious overall and a great pick, especially if you enjoy a nice steak. It was just the right amount of food and did not make me feel overwhelmed. The portions were just right and I did not need a carry out container. I did not even have to ask for a refill. Katie is quick on observations. ; 3

Overall, this was an enjoyable experience and I would highly recommend it. The only thing I will suggest whether you are here or anywhere is that if you are noise sensitive always keep a set of squeezable earplugs on you because like many places it can get loud. It is a "family...

So I came in on Friday night around 10:00pm and was seated right away. After about 10 minutes of nobody even acknowledging us or assuring us that someone should be right with us, one of the servers yells to the hostess and is pointing at us and asks if anyone had greeted us yet. The hostess responds with "I don't know" and they both just walk away and still after that another 10 minutes passes and not a single server acknowledges us. Keep in mind servers kept walking past us and it was not even busy at all. I am usually very understanding as I have worked as a server myself but this is just inexcusable. So after 20 minutes of waiting, we decided to leave, without saying anything or complaining. As we walk out, the hostess proceeds to walk over to our table right away, and grab our menus with attitude as if we did something wrong?? ... I mean even as a hostess, she was just standing there watching this all happen and didn't offer to get us waters or grab a waitress, nothing. I just found this extremely rude and just felt very unwelcome and don't plan to return. Now I understand why this place is never busy. I've had a few bad experiences here, but nothing to this extent that made me never want to come back. Do better Applebees.. nobody deserves this kind of treatment and you should look into finding kinder people to work for...
