Panera Bread — Restaurant in Hempfield Township

The place is just overpriced. A simple sandwich and a bowl of soup could cost you around $20 and honestly I don't think it's that good.

They seem to have gotten rid of the bacon, turkey, bravo and the two sandwiches I've tried since have tasted closer to health food... But it's not health food, it's pure carbs and they don't exactly load up your sandwich with meats and toppings.

The ordering situation is very star bucks, where you order and give a name then stand around like a fool until they call you.

The soup selection is a bit alien to me. The French onion is alright, but it's not going to be smothered in melted cheese in a crock. The other soups are usually like two chicken soups and some pureed vegetable. Idk, you aren't going to see a beef and barley or stuffed cabbage soup.

They do the things where they give you dishes which just are awkward when you reach the garage can.

Their delivery is also bizarre. They go by mileage exclusively, so you can live less than 5 minutes down route 30 and they won't deliver in preference of heading into downtown Jeanette or wherever which is going to take them 15 minutes.

Every time I'm here I honestly ask why I came again. Nothing wrong with this particular Panera, this is just...

An expected experience for food at a Panera. Staff was a bit blah and it’s certainly not an atmospheric wonderland but it works in a pinch. Very clean and tidy environment. Lost one star due to the maze like dining area with the restrooms hiding behind a wall with no clue to where they were located for a new patron to this particular Panera. Definitely could benefit from staff who didn’t look at you like you’re crazy when asked to write down what they were saying. I was forced to ask them to do so since my hearing aids were only picking up the kitchen staff yelling to each other and screaming out names of orders which drowned out what little I can hear. Thankfully I had a friend with me that helped. Yes, Panera, severe to profound hearing loss can affect younger patrons too. Yummy Steak and White Cheddar on a Roll.

I stopped by this location to get a quick bite while waiting for my car to get serviced. The cashier recommended the Mexican Corn Soup which paired nicely with the sandwich.

Food was fresh, hot, and in my belly in a mere few minutes. If you're looking for a place to park yourself and maybe study, I saw folks pouring over various texts with a sandwich in hand.

I got a booth seat and settled into my meal.

I appreciate Panera being generally healthy food, and I know what I'm getting from here. Their to-go order through Google is super convenient and I use that sometimes too.

Plus, no extra charges for pick-up in store from an online order, as of this writing, May 2023
