Let me just say I NEVER write reviews. Don’t think I ever wrote a bad one. But this experience left me very upset that I wasted my money and the service I received from the woman who rung me up. Where do I start? I was just completely unsatisfied. I’ve never ordered from this place before because it always looked sketchy from the outside to me. Doesn’t look all that appealing. Well one day I was at work and didn’t feel like cooking so decided to try it since it was the only Chinese restaurant that had sushi around. Arrived and walking in for the first time to the restaurant it felt a little dated and there was a weird stench in the air. I walked up to the counter and told the lady I had two orders bother under Christopher and gave her the number for both orders. My friend sent me with a coupon and told me to use one of them. One was $3 off and the other $5 off a certain amount. She told me I couldn’t use the $5 one because my order wasn’t large enough so she took the $3 off. Well after she rings me up she only gives me the one order and tells me to have a good day, which at that point I am confused. I told her about the other order and that I told her I had two orders under the same name. So she rings up the other order and I asked if I could use the $5 coupon with the order coming to $30-$31 and she tells me no because she didn’t no the two orders were together. She basically blamed it on me. So then I asked if I could get just $2 off the order because I got $3 off the other one and the coupon is supposed to be $5. She refused and was also rude about it. I’ve been a manager in several retail and restaurants over the past 10 years and I would never lose a customer over $2 when it was YOUR mistake. Especially when they just spent $50 their first time there.. I told her it was my first time here and I’m never coming back. All she said was sorry. I thought the disappointment would be over after that. But when I got home and tried the food it was terrible. The sushi was nothing special, they mixed my California and shrimp tempura in the same container and the sauces and sushi got all mixed up with the ginger and wasabi. AND I HATE MY COLD AND WARM SUSHI MIXED!! I always put the cold one in the fridge until I eat it so it stays fresh and I like the tempura warm/room temp. The tempura was hard/chewy. I was more than disappointed with the chicken teriyaki dish I paid $17-$18 for (one of the more expensive choices I usually don’t order). It tasted like sugar water chicken… I was so upset/disappointed. It tasted nothing like Teriyaki and didn’t even have flavor, just sweetness. No soy sauce and very watery as well, kinda like soup. The chicken was dry and it comes with white rice which isn’t a problem if you have some flavor and not just sugar water chicken.. Plus that lady left a bad taste in my mouth (aside from the sugar water chicken). 😂 I will...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience during my recent visit. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a younger staff member wearing EarPods who audibly sighed before seating me—not exactly a welcoming start.
I ordered the Sushi Platter listed at $20, which was described as including 8 pieces of sushi, a California roll, and a salad. I clarified with the server that I could choose the 8 pieces and pointed specifically to the Spicy Tempura Roll and the Spider Roll. She confirmed that was okay.
When the food arrived, it included the rolls I requested but also several large pieces of raw fish—salmon, shrimp, crab—served on rice, which I did not order and did not eat. I only ate what I had selected.
To make matters worse, when I unwrapped the silverware from the napkin, a live bug—possibly a beetle or small cockroach—crawled out. This was absolutely unacceptable from a cleanliness standpoint.
When I asked for the check, the server laughed and asked if the raw sushi was “bad” because I didn’t eat it. I explained that I don’t eat that kind of sushi.
The bill came to $40, double what was advertised. I expressed I was unhappy and pointed out that I had specifically asked about selecting the 8 rolls and was told that was fine, but the server insisted that was “separate” and kept saying “no” and walked away mid-conversation.
I paid the full bill but left feeling misled and frustrated. I used to come to this restaurant years ago, but sadly the service, cleanliness, and menu transparency have gone downhill. I will not...
Read moreThis place, I cannot say enough good things. We travelled from out of state to meet family and have three kids under 5 who were exhausted and overstimulated who all were screaming, laying on the floor and crying, and hiding under the table. While my husband and I were trying to get them back to the car, order food, talk to relatives we haven't seen in months, and generally losing our minds, one of the employees went out of her way to entice our kids with suckers and cookies, and pour them cups of milk with straws. We were in and out of the restaurant several times carrying our Tasmanian Devil children in an over the shoulder sack of flour carry, and they prepared our food and had it all set out in the hopes we would be able to eat it. The food was delicious, and the portion sizes are amazing. No one is going to leave here hungry! We had lo-mein noodles with extra chicken, and they delivered on the extra chicken! My husband and I had szechuan beef and chicken and broccoli, both of which were delicious. Their egg rolls are GIGANTIC and delicious. Peking Garden, and the poor customers who were there last night during our debacle, we appreciate you very much, and will be back in...
