The food is overpriced, which would be okay if it had any flavor or the portions were reasonable, but they fail on both counts. On top of that, everything is an upcharge, including the items that come with the meal! It's also unclean; there's always a puddle of syrup in the caddy and/or on the table. The service has always been pretty bad but our last visit was felt like we were at one of those restaurants where you pay for the servers to mistreat you. First, the waitress that our hostess assigned us to passed by numerous times in the 10-15 minutes we were sitting there before she finally asked if anyone was helping us, at which point she went to the kitchen instead of taking our drink order. When she returned a few minutes later, she was annoyed that she had been assigned another table, but took our drink orders and rushed off before we could tell her that we were ready to order. When we finally got our drinks, she gives us coffee, but no mug. Then I'm trying to order my crepe COMBO and she asks how I want my eggs but cuts me off before I can tell her if I want bacon or sausage as a side, and ask to add toast (since nothing comes with toast). Then the food takes so long to get there that she finally stopped by to update us, which was surprising because, despite being 1 of only 3 tables in sight, she seemed to be too busy to check on us or refill our drinks. When our food finally arrived she said my toast would be out shortly and rushed off before I could tell her that my crepes weren't the kind I ordered, my daughter got 2 pancakes instead of the 3 (that she specifically said her meal came with) or ask about my hash browns and my daughter's side that were both missing. It took a while for her to return, which was slightly irritating because all I could eat was my eggs once my husband gave me his toast. We finally grabbed a nearly empty ketchup bottle off of a dirty table for my husband's hash browns because it took her so long to return. When she finally brought my toast, I kindly asked about the missing sides, (which she acknowledged came with the meal & combo we ordered) and mentioned that I had ordered different crepes. She was really annoyed about taking it back so I didn't even mention the missing pancake, (thinking she forgot and wrote the kids portion) but she did say that she would have the cook "re-make" my crepe. Idk why because I was totally patient and kind, I hadn't touched it, and what I ordered was completely different; it was supposed to come on a bed of spinach with chicken (I thought mushrooms) and swiss inside, with a white sauce and tomatoes on top, but this had bacon on top, with no spinach or tomatoes. My daughter's side came out pretty quickly but the rest of my food took at least another 20 minutes. I was pretty annoyed at this point because my crepe was smaller than the 1st one, only had 5 tiny chunks of tomato, barely any sauce, no mushrooms, and the "bed" of spinach turned out to be 4-5 leaves hidden underneath, so we asked for boxes and the check. I was completely disgusted when the check came 10 minutes later without boxes-but she did finally offer refills! I expected the $5 upcharge for our toast, but she charged the combo price for my crepe plus extra for my eggs, and charged the adult amount for my daughter! I didn't even ask about the pancakes because I hadn't mentioned the missing one so I didn't want them to think we were looking for free food, but when I politely asked about the upcharge for eggs, she tried to say my crepe didn't come as a combo! After watching her chat with the table she sat next to us and then walk past us twice (without boxes) to take and then deliver their drink order, I lost my patience and went to the car. As I said, the service is typically slow and inattentive, and I wouldn't expect a discount just for that, but I really thought she would AT LEAST discount my meal, not charge extra on top of the combo! $50 for 3 breakfasts is pricey, but it's downright shameful for the food quality and...
Read moreWe visited the Greensburg facility on Saturday November 11,2023. I understand there are points in the day that every worker feels drained. I get that some managers are over worked, but I can tell you those who were actually working at this establishment, were trying to keep up and fix mistakes and try to make it seem smooth were not managers. It was far from smooth, let's start with the entrance. We are greeted by a man who looks so lost. Perhaps it's his first day. Ok, so he seats us not very friendly. Maybe there was just a rush, and they are coming down off that. Restrooms now come into play, my God, how can you even consider this a clean environment. Did you pass the last inspection? It just got worse the further into the bathroom you got the floor was sticky and urine all over the floor in the handicap stall. Nasty in the middle with toliet paper everywhere. One sink didn't work, the paper towel roll was set out on the wet counter due to the fact that the dispenser didn't work, that was just the womens restroom, and the mens was described as about the same.
We walked in there about 1:15-1:30, there were not many people there. The longer we were there, the more you realized that Richard (the manager) was just there to collect a paycheck. Our server Della was exhausted, and you clearly tell she was under a lot of stress. While she is trying to make things right, he would just disappear. We ordered our food, didn't get half the appetizers, when our food comes it's chaos, missing parts of the orders, oh and we get two chicken strips and a cup of motts applesauce for the Jr kids meal. Really? You can't even take it out and make it look like it's yours. We are now on our second set of silverware because it looks like it was run under the water and pushed out with the reminits of someone else's food and saliva still on it. We get the bill we ask that parts be taken off as we did not even get them. There was apparently another manager there named Anthony. Someone really needs to be in charge here. The benefit of the doubt was taken away fairly quickly as neither of them paid any attention to their customers. I mean, I'm sorry our experience at IHOP was nowhere near pleasent other than Della. These poor servers are being overworked and run down for the simple fact that you have no management. I'm sorry, was I at an IHOP or a dive bar?
This experience was worth far less than the outrageous bill we had to pay for. We will not be returning EVER. I'm sure you hear these things upon bad reviews, but from someone who has been within customer service for 20 years, I can say you should really start listening and paying attention to the bad reviews. I did tell Richard to his face that he should start acting like a manager since he was clearly not one. Always remember that word of mouth speaks higher volumes than any written word...
Read moreI visited this establishment for the 4th time in recent months. This is a meeting point for my wife and I coming from Johnstown to meet my brother and his wife coming from Pittsburgh suburbs. To date, the food and service have always been excellent. We end up socializing for several hours over an abundant meal and coffee (and understanding that we take up space, we always leave a very healthy tip). Today, 3/19/23, we were left very disappointed to the point that we discussed choosing another meeting place for next month. It started with the wait to be seated. Albeit 10:45 am when we arrived, when we were seated, our section was less than 50% occupied, so I wouldn't say it was crowded. After a short wait, a server took our drink orders (4 coffees and 4 glasses of water). About 10 minutes later another server asked our drink order again and shortly after returned with the coffee (which we also asked for creamers). To our dismay, the coffee carafe filled exactly 2 1/2 cups. When we finally did get the creamers, we asked for more coffee and the server took our orders. We drank our coffees and had our conversations until after what was about an hour (it was now almost 12:30), when the server came to tell us the kitchen was closed and now our order should be coming out soon. At this point we asked for more creamers, since the original 4 that they gave us were long gone... Finally food comes, which was delicious hence the 2 stars, and the server asked if we needed anything else. Our response-"strawberry syrup, hot sauce and extra butter... and still the creamers". We got the strawberry syrup, and after finishing his meal, my brother got the extra butter for his toast, never did get the hot sauce. I realize that finding reliable service workers is a growing problem in today's world, but management needs to get more involved because obviously parenting has failed this young generation. My youngest soon to be 17 year old son has a greater attention span and work ethic than these people. How hard is it to manage and train these people to write things down if need be, in order to ensure good service. Maybe if they spent half the time that they spend on tattoos, tiktok, and rainbow coloring their hair and instead focus on basic service and life skills. I travel the country quite a bit, and IHOP has always been one of my favorite places, but it is evident that it is a dying brand and I can't help but think, it has a lot to do with the staff quality. If it wasn't for the always delicious meals, I'm not sure what would...
