Lack of attentiveness and detail from my server JEANNIE .G I arrived at the establishment and was seated by the host really swiftly. There were no people in line at the time, just me.
Jeannie also quickly introduced herself and got my drink order. Quickly again, she arrived at my table, and I placed my food order. I asked specifically for plastic utensils, extra butter and extra syrup. She acknowledged that she clearly understood because she made the comment, “extra everything”.
5 minutes or less, my food arrived to me, and I’m thinking, “wow, the speed of service is super”! With those thoughts running through my head, I noticed that I was completely missing syrup, and plastic utensils, and also missing the extra butter because the very small amount of butter was not sufficiently brought to cover to pancakes.
I waiting for Jennie G to come back to do the first check up after my food was handed to me and during this time of waiting I didn’t touch my food. 5 minutes had gone by, then 10 minutes , 15minutes and then at the 17 minute mark, she finally checked on me.
Now during this 17 minutes of observation, I noticed that Jeannie was taking orders, serving food, and handing out receipts. Jennie also loomed my way two times that I could see within my peripheral vision and it seemed like as long as I didn’t make eye contact she would acknowledge me sitting at the table without eating. Finally I gave eye contact when she looked my way again and she came to me and asked if everything is alright.
I shared what I am missing and while I am talking, she goes to the other table to hand me a syrup bottle. I told her that instead I would like a to-go box with items missing and a to-go cup. Again while I am providing instructions, she heads off to the kitchen.
She comes back with almost all that I requested, but she missed the to-go cup, and she provided me with two forks instead of one fork and a knife for the pancakes. She then comes back, I take my receipt, she tells me to enjoy the rest of my day and I leave.
While I do not know Jeannie, I feel like the poor service was intentional because she NEVER mentioned she was apologetic about the service. She didn’t seem empathetic or anything and might I mention that as a server, you are trained to follow up with your guest to ensure that the order is right, and address any needs before going on to help other guest.
The passive, nasty/nice behavior may go over other folks heads but it didn’t go over mine at anytime. People of a certain race have the right to eat where they choose whether you like it or not!
I will be contacting corporate, and emailing the CEO of Dennys and I will escalate until it is resolved to ensure that other people do not experience the mistreatment like I did.
I will add my saying, the place was really clean and the food was...
Read moreI have to say after a cumulative 26 years in customer service, and my husband’s 38 years in the restaurant business, it takes A LOT for me to complain. This Denny’s location brings new meaning to their new slogan “New day, New Denny’s”. I have never been more disgusted nor thoroughly disappointed in our visit on the evening of 10/2/2018. I would give this location “0” stars if I could.
It has been (but will no longer be) our family tradition to have a meal at Denny’s after our son’s choir concert performances. In fact, we had been going to this location for THREE YEARS.
Upon arrival at 7:50 p.m., it was about 7 minutes before we were even greeted, and then seated. We ordered approximately 5 mins later. We ordered a Grand Slam Slugger with orange juice, two root beers, one coke, one Double Cheeseburger with fries, one Bacon Avocado Cheeseburger with fries. Obviously nothing hard or fancy.
After 39 minutes without food, the waitress apologized and said it was “nearly ready”. We then asked for it to be boxed up as it was almost 9 p.m. the boxed and bagged food was finally brought to us 48 minutes after ordering. Forty-eight minutes!!
When our waitress brought us the bags of food, she saw that I had already placed her cash tip on the table. She politely tried to refuse stating that she “knew we had not gotten good service”. We insisted on the tip explaining that she was not the one at fault. We had already checked and the kitchen only had one cook. He was obviously overwhelmed. The waitress told us that we were being given a 20% discount off of our ticket. (See receipt, not quite true).
As we went up to pay our bill, the “hostess” was no where to be found, and then we saw her walking up the group that had been at “her” table. She was too busy taking care of one sole (large) table. Ordering waitresses to bring them more pancakes, and drinks. (The waitresses were not assigned that table, the hostess/manager was). Unfortunate for them, I was already in front of the cash register. I asked the hostess if she was the “manager on duty”, and she answered yes, so I then asked her name. “Marlane”. She did not acknowledge the problem with our order, she did not even apologize for how long we waited. In fact, she barely said anything!!
This is not how a manager takes care of customers! Shame on you Denny’s!!
After a quick 10 minute drive home we very hungrily opened our boxes to a bunch of over cooked, tasteless slop. The hamburgers were so bad that we threw them away. My son’s pancakes were tasteless and rubbery.
What an absolute shame. No more “New Day, New Denny’s” for us! ...
Read moreAtmosphere: the location was dirty, there were a few guests at table but i saw at least two bussers walking around. The two tails I approached both were dirty. It took a minute for me to flag someone down to clean the table and when I did flag them down they just casually walked over nonchalant. The place was not crowded but there were a few guests. The menus of stickers on them for items they didnt have and not just one or two but more the 5 items with big obnoxious stickers. The fact you're out of things that should be regular is disturbing first. Second that there are so many things you're out of gives even more concern and third that it takes these giant stickers to showcase. This would suggest to me that something is wrong here. Service: As i said above there was no sense of urgency or caring to making things clean for guests. Everyone look to be going through the motions. Server took time to come around to take order, we were only checked on once and when we were done it took awhile to get the check. Things just didnt look that busy to wait so long for things to happen. And again i saw several people around. I could understand if every table was filled and you were extremely busy or if there was only one server but this just did not seem the case to me. Food: The food's okay. But just okay. It took a while for the food to come out and when it did it was just average. Its the only thing that keeps me and my grandmother coming back. Its decent and we can sit down. My grandmother like Denny's alot because she used to work at one many years ago and other cafes. But if things get any worse we will have to find other places to eat. I used to enjoy the selection and probably like most people have been going to Denny's since i was a kid. I truly love what Denny's represents but I don't think they deliver on that...
