Came in on New Year’s Day for a quick bite to eat, and I had some cash in my pocket that I was gonna put in the machine. Usually go to the rainbow I decided to give this place a shot. I previously used to patronize the El Dorado and I have not been here yet since they’ve taken over the space so I thought I would go here today. I ended up getting chased out by security. I wanted a half a sandwich and soup. The menu offers this and gives you a choice of a few different deli meats and then it comes with your Standard lettuce, tomato, onion, etc. and then on the bottom it says you can add bacon or out avocado. I don’t remember the price. I think it was 150 or three dollars to add each of those items. So I basically wanted to BLT a half of a BLT and the server was baffled. He told me that I should just order the whole sandwich because it’s gonna be too expensive to bring it in that way. I told him I don’t care how much it cost. I don’t want the whole sandwich. He argued with me probably four or five times told me that I needed to get the whole sandwich because it’s gonna cost too much. I told him I don’t care I have money. I think the actual problem was he didn’t know how to ring it in. I guarantee you this is not an uncommon request and maybe it’s his first day but this is something that can be done. I’ve worked in high-volume restaurants on the Las Vegas Vegas trip for 20 years. This guy can’t even handle a one top and a two top. After basically refusing to accept the order and repeatedly telling me that I needed to order the whole sandwich, I said I was gonna leave. At that point, he had brought me a soda which I took a couple of sips of. Didn’t think twice about the soda, I got up and left. On my way out, I told the elderly lady who was running the cash register that her server was an ass and that he argued with me about what I wanted to eat and so I was leaving. She didn’t mention the soda, which would’ve been the perfect time. I think under the circumstance, they should not charge me for the soda, but I would’ve been happy to pay for it if she would’ve mentioned it. So then I decide I’m not gonna let this ruin my day. I’m gonna put some money in the machine before I go across the street and get some food. As I’m walking through the casino, I see that pretty much every machine has a call attendant service needed type of flashing light on it. Which now I’m starting to see why this place is empty on New Year’s Day. Not just the restaurant. I decide that I will gamble next-door as well as eat now mind you I walked around the casino for a few minutes. It wasn’t until I walked out the door that security rolled up on me screaming talking about I didn’t pay my bill at Amelia‘s. Literally embarrassing me. At first, I said there was no bill because I didn’t remember the soda. And then I remembered the soda so then I was willing to come in and pay for it, but I was furious. I told the security guard all of the above. She apologized profusely. I told her I understand she’s just doing her job. When we got to the restaurant, I saw the old lady go to the server and ask for a check and he said there is no check. So I guess she just decided that 20 minutes later she’s gonna send security after me for a soda. After her server treated me the way that he did. I am now being subjected to being screamed at by a security guard about not paying a bill, which is false. When I got home, I tried to call the casino and no matter what option you choose you end up getting a busy signal. There was no one for me to talk to you about my experience. I highly doubt this place is gonna be here...
Read moreI usually have good service here although this last time we waited quite awhile while severs kept apologizing to us that they aren't allowed to seat us and we have to wait for the host who would be back soon. Finally host comes out of the back somewhere and seats us. We got the prime rib which has always been pretty good except for the fact that if you order medium rare it comes out rare, so if you want medium rare the just order medium. The broccoli was undercooked and tasted like garlic. Last time I ate here the broccoli was perfect and tasted like broccoli. I told the waitress and she spoke with the chef and came back and told me the chef put garlic butter on all the vegtables and told me I was the first to complain. I told her it wasn't like that last time I was here, she said they most recently started using this garlic butter on all the vegetables so next make sure to order vegtables plain no garlic butter 🤨 Not everyone like garlic. I do but not on my broccoli, I like my broccoli to taste like broccoli as well as corn and carrots to taste like corn and carrots not garlic. Waitress was great in her customer service and communication with chef and I, her and the food except for the...
Read moreEmilia's Cafe inside the Pass Casino on Water Street is a hidden gem. I understand every situation is different, but I have no complaints. Host, waitress who got my drink, waitress who took my order, and a gentleman who refilled my drink, were all so pleasant. Great customer service! I ordered iced tea, the Chicken and Waffles, and the Jackpot breakfast. Yeah I was hungry. The Chicken and waffles had bacon bits that went perfect with the syrup. Sweet and salty combination is always a plus! The Chicken was fried to perfection. The scrambled eggs were nice and fluffy, the bacon crispy, just how I like 'em, and the hash browns and sourdough toast were a delight. They have a great selection of food, and were pretty busy when I was there. One added bonus I didn't expect, I played in the casino, and got a $10 coupon for the restaurant, so when I gave them my players card and the coupon, they deducted the rest of the bill using my points (which I didn't even realize I had). So basically I got a wonderful meal at a very inexpensive price (I did end up breaking even in the casino, so that's a win for me 🤣). Can't...
