Don’t bring your pups. I have never been to a dog friendly restaurant with my pups and felt so uncomfortable. And we take our pups out to eat a lot. Maybe this is just a nightlife place according to the reviews? We won’t be finding out after our experience. It was Monday evening. We sat outside, we were the only ones outside during sunset time. Waitress was nice but took awhile to get to us. Maybe understaffed? We understand. It did look as if she was scared of our pups, which we also can understand for people that have had bad experiences with them. So we held them back for her. Although nothing was communicated, she did seem to get more comfortable as time went on. But then a guy (cook, manager, idk) came out to serve us our food and immediately looked annoyed because my pup barked (he gets excited about food time since they also get food). The guy steps back with a disgusted face and rudely says “I’m not serving you your food if you don’t control your dogs.” Like what.. a bark hurt your feelings that bad? Lol. So my hubby being the mature one said he can come grab the food no problem and proceeded to thank him. He continued to have a disgusted face and did not say one word. Maybe he was having a bad day? But there is 100% a better way to approach your customers. He shouldn’t be dealing with customers period if he has an attitude problem honestly. People won’t come back to that. I felt so uncomfortable with his demeanor towards us, like we are a problem. So I would not consider this a dog friendly place. At least with that crew. I get people feel uncomfortable around dogs and we would be more than happy to walk up and grab our food, but the way he was acting was absolutely uncalled for. Don’t call this a dog friendly place. Our dogs are very happy dogs. Fix your life if you feel that miserable in the restaurant industry. People want good vibes, not bad...
Read moreThis tavern is located within the District at Green Valley Ranch on the southside near Lucille’s. The tavern has both indoor and outdoor dining areas as well as a large “u-shaped” sitting bar with plenty of large screen TVs to watch a game or two. The dining area inside has both sitting booths and high-top tables/chairs and the bar has your typical bar stools. Outside, there are at least 8-10 booths (most of them have umbrellas) and about 6 smaller round tables. The staff was extremely friendly, and our server was fantastic. We all give “5-stars” and kudos to Rittany, who took care of us during our entire stay. Now for the bad, and it all has to do with the food. As you can see from the photos, my overcooked, dried out hamburger with a stale “fingerprint” brioche bun was terrible. The steak tacos were very, very chewy, yet they claim on the menu they are made from prime rib – I think you need to use a better cut of meat. The Cuban sandwich was crushed, over cooked and the bun was burnt. However, the turkey club sandwich was alright. Sorry, for the prices they charge here you would expect a higher quality of food and no, this was in no way a gastronomic delight for any of us. It is too bad since we love the location and the great service we received, but the food was not worth the price we paid for...
Read moreI'm not sure why the reviews are so bad, after one visit we had good time and great service. 3.5 stars but I'll round up for the service...
PKWY service and ambiance: Tons of seating and the main rectangular bar has a plethora of flat screens to watch numerous sporting events. A monitor can be seen at any seat in the house. Our server was fantastic with checking with us throughout the night and getting our drinks to the table. We ordered some food to snack on as we caught up on drinks.
PKWY dishes: The two dishes we ordered were on opposite ends of the spectrum. The chicken fingers was mind blowingly unimpressive. 5 skinny pieces of chicken plopped onto a plate with carrot celery sticks. You can tell this dish was rushed with no effort, my picture doesn't do it justice. The margherita pizza on the other hand was fantastic. Generous in size, fresh ingredients and well put together. This is a pizza I can definitely see ordering again and should be on your list to try at PKWY.
Overall, the service was fantastic, the chicken fingers were terrible but the Margherita pizza was the money, like the bomb. I think this PKWY has a lot of potential and I hope they get better. Will I visit again? Absolutely because I dig the setup, the service vibe and the...
