Huge change of pace from major coffee stores. Quiet. Slow pace. At least in the morning. This store accomplishes a customer’s need for a delicate atmosphere to enjoy coffee.
The staff are appropriately wearing their masks; covering their nose and under their chins, so try not to stress too much about catching something here. The dining area prioritizes the six feet principle such that you have so much room inside and dining outside as well for the cooler weather.
This is my first visit here and it’s like visiting a friend that works at an office space. They offer you a cup of coffee and you sit and wait until your friend finishes up work. You don’t deal with the stress that the employees deal with. You just sit and observe. Listen to their concentration.
The coffee I got was their cold brew with “some creamer.” It was out of awkwardness that I asked that way, but the barista gave me the right amount of “some creamer.” The cold brew was balanced in bitterness and nutty flavors. I’m glad I had some creamer in because my tastes does lean more toward the bitterness, but this was a considerably strong brew.
I would recommend visiting this shop any time their open solely because it’s better to come when there isn’t much customer flow. However, that doesn’t detract from the flavor of their coffee. I think this is going to be a regular spot for me. Look out for more reviews I guess
Note: Four stars because I don’t have enough experience here. I intend on visiting again though, I really do appreciate this stores approach on...
Read moreIt's "OK"... Always looking for a new coffee shop, and the 5 star rating caught my attention for this one. I can't agree with 5 stars, but it's not a bad place. Pros: The place has a crisp decor, it's clean, comfortable seats. Cons: Average customer service, average coffee, poor ambiance with music choice. Decided to try the place when needing to work remotely, and after about 10 minutes of listening to sultry/lounge style jazz with a caffeinated drink and a drive to get work done, I felt I needed a cocktail and to dim the lights. I asked if the music could be changed to something more contemporary or upbeat for 9:30am in the morning, and I got a "What, you don't like this music?" response. I just mentioned something upbeat was just a suggestion. The music did change... to light/smooth jazz. And then I got asked if this was better... ahh OK. Left that one alone. Not impressed with the coffee: I ordered an americano, which does require a good balance of water and espresso to be mixed, and mine was watery and lacked any flavor. Obviously, I can't speak for any other drinks they make. Overall, not a bad place, but not high on my list of...
Read moreI wanted to like this local coffee shop but after spending a couple hours laptopping there, I don't plan to return. This review is meant to help them understand things that are important to customers, which Skimos is either unaware of or doesn't care about.
Pros: quiet background music, good wifi, coffee ok, decent food menu
Cons: Surly staff clearly not into the whole customer "service" thing. I observed staff screwing up other customers' orders and making excuses, rather un- apologetically. Annoying little signs about wifi and restrooms for paying customers only, reminds me of a passive-aggressive college roomie with the sticky notes. Well before closing time, they busted out the industrial mop and strong cleaning chemicals, and I had to leave because it gave me a headache being there. Surely I am not the only one who doesn't like smelling lysol or whatever when I'm trying to enjoy cappuccino and pastry. Meanwhile they were out of TP in the bathroom the entire time I was there. I just used tissues from my purse so I didn't have to bother the staff, they were so complaining to each other about their jobs and playing on...
