Even if Poseidon himself opened a restaurant, I’m pretty sure it would look a lot like Storming Crab.
From the second I walked into the ocean-splashed madness of Storming Crab, I knew I was in for a good time. The smell of garlic butter, Cajun spice, and deep-fried dreams hit me like a flavor freight train. The place was buzzing, the tables were covered (as if daring us to make a mess), and people were laughing, cracking shells, and living their best seafood life.
Let’s start with the service. Our server strolled up to our table without a pen, notepad, or tablet. I braced myself. We rattled off our order like auctioneers: one pound of shrimp, extra spicy, with corn and sausage; a pound of crab legs, medium heat, heavy garlic; side of hush calamari; two lemonades, one sweet tea — hold the lemon. She nodded once like some kind of culinary Jedi, then disappeared into the kitchen vortex. I was almost certain something was going to come out wrong.
Folks… nothing came out wrong. Not a single item. Not a single substitution. Not even the sweet tea-without-lemon. I don't know if this girl has a photographic memory or if she's been microchipped by a seafood AI overlord, but whatever it is — it works.
And the food? Let me tell you: it’s not just good — it’s seafood that slaps. Not figuratively. Literally. I got smacked in the face with a crab leg when my friend who tried to share one. (That’s his story. I still think it was sabotage.)
The seasoning was perfect — a blend of buttery, spicy, garlicky goodness that made me seriously question all previous meals I’ve ever had. The seafood was fresh and juicy, with each bite better than the last. I don’t know what kind of magic they put in their sauces, but if they bottled it, I’d buy it in gallons and bathe in it. (Don’t judge me.)
The corn was so sweet and tender it could've passed for dessert. And the sausage? Spicy, snappy, and soaking in the juices like it just came out of a Cajun hot tub.
Oh, and let’s not forget the bibs and gloves. Nothing screams “I’m about to eat like a crustacean-loving lunatic” quite like strapping on a plastic bib with a giant crab on it. It’s half-meal, half-costume party, and I loved every second.
Final verdict: Storming Crab is the real deal. The service is top-tier, the food is outrageously good, and the whole experience is messy in all the best ways. If you leave clean, you did it wrong.
Highly recommend — just bring an appetite, a sense of humor, and maybe an extra...
Read moreI have been to several seafood restaurants in Las Vegas, and I stumbled upon this gem in Henderson. Called the Storming Crab. They started me off with a seafood bread - a restaurant favorite. It didn't disappoint. It's like cheese bread with seafood bits on top of a sourdough bread. Yummy. Clam chowder - Tasty is not too salty. Just the right amount of potatoes with shrimp is also delightful smooth, not too think nor runny, just right. Watch out for the bowl size, lol. Seafood boil - it has 3 types of sauces. I chose mild, and it had a nice garlic flavor with a little smoldering heat called Old Bay Butter. There is a mid level heat and atomic heat. I must try the atomic heat another time the corn was so tasty and not mushy or overcooked at all. I LOVED THE potatoe not hard, cooked just right. No salt or pepper is needed. However, the crayfish was a bit smaller than was anticipated ( they were running small). Moving on to the shrimp basket , it came out piping hot, not overly seasoned. I had the choice of catsup, house sauce- which tasted like mayo and butter. It's not one of my favorites. Ann suggested folks apply it on oysters / crabcakes and the go-to cocktail sauce. That never let me down. Not too much horseradish either. I'm not a fan of hushpuppies. However, I had to sample for taste. Crunchy on the outside and that stuffing texture on the inside. Not dry, very moist like seafood stuffing. The shrimp was a nice size, and the portion was just right for a single serving with eight pieces. Very nice size shrimp. French fries were piping hot. Just the way I liked them. Ann, the server, was attentive to my questions, not a long time to wait. The Restaurant was very clean and had that seafood decor place down pat. Like I remembered on the East Coast. The best part was there was no fishy lingering smell that could be a turn-off when eating seafood. The music was great. The vibes were so inviting Jenice, the manager, was very kind, explaining the menu and the specials. She answered all my questions about the AYCE deals. Will I recommend this restaurant, of course. The prices were affordable. There's something to eat for...
Read moreWe live in the Moapa Valley and do our shopping and date night now in this area of Henderson on Friday nights. We used to go to St. George UT or Mesquite, but the roadwork has become a nightmare and no one wants to sit in traffic on date night. So instead, we drive the lake route to Henderson and shop off of Mark's street. The day we found Storming Crab, we actually had stayed on the strip the night before when family was in town visiting. We had breakfast with them before they left for home, not far from Henderson. We decided to run our errands on Marks and head back the lake route. We only discovered Storming Crab by chance. We were going to bring home some fast food to our boys after we were done at Costco. We put the address in to Google maps and it routed us from Costco to Galleria I think, further down Stephanie than we'd been. As we were passing we saw the sign. I read it to my husband and he asked "are you hungry?" I told him "for that, yeah! I could eat!" It did not disappoint! The last time I had a good Cajun boil was probably more than 20 years ago living in Texas. Lots of great Cajon places to choose from. I sure missed it! Storming Crabs food is fresh and amazing. The menu has so much to offer, including po boys. As much as I want to try that, that Dungeness crab was so divine, I'm likely to get it again the next trip. The service was great and we got our food fast. The garlic bread, stuffed with cream cheese and crab was delicious! We were actually planning to go tonight for date night, but the summer monsoon storms we've had this past 2 evenings have taken a toll on the roads the lake route. We'll see how things are this weekend. Hopefully there will be a trip soon. I am really craving Storming Crab! My new, favorite seafood stop. Sorry Red Lobster, we enjoyed our visit the week prior, but Storming Crab is...
