I honestly don't understand why the rating for this place isn't a full-on 5 stars. First of all, when it comes to customer service, this man is efficient and no nonsense. If I want someone fawning over me (and hell, sometimes I do), I'll go to Starbucks or another place that will smile and make it their job to make my day brighter. Most of the time, though, I want a restaurant that will make it their job to give me excellent food with efficiency and straightforward friendliness. He's not going to fluff your ego. His food, however, will make your mouth happy.
Today is my husband's birthday, and while staying in the area, his number one request was some good hot chicken. Well, this place delivered well beyond expectations. The medium spice was perfect for me, with just enough tingle to be almost uncomfortable in a very good way. He loved the hot, hitting that pleasure point of pain that good spicy food can deliver. The fried chicken itself was incredible: crispy, juicy, just to the point of almost well done but any less done wouldn't have gotten that crisp. The green beans and fried okra were good, the seasoned crinkle fries tasty, and that mac and cheese has spoiled me for all other restaurant mac and cheese. It's an incredibly cheesy penne, with that soft very slight bite you can just sink right into. My kid scarfed her mac and cheese side almost before I sat down, so yes. Get it.
Go here. And give the man a cash tip because his food is amazing and because based on the reviews, he deals with some unnecessary shade. We will be back again when in the area, even if we're not actually staying in...

Now for the review.
We were Minnesotans in Nashville and I knew I had to find the best Hot Chicken in town. After menial attempts at researching hot chicken joints via the web, it seemed like every eloquent guy fieri-wannabe critic worth their salt and refined palettes were all rabidly foaming at the mouth for this place and I knew we had to go here.
I got the “hot” chicken tenders with Mac and cheese and fries for sides and my girlfriend got “mild” chicken tenders with fried okra and Mac and cheese for sides. My “hot” chicken was spicy enough to make my face tingle and sweat but savory enough where I kept wanting to eat it. The breading was perfectly spiced and crisp while the meat was tender and perfectly cooked. The macaroni and fries for sides were perfect compliments to the chicken and just goes to show that you don’t need to go to a chic, sappy restaurant in the gulch to find the best food in the Nashville area.
Mr. Moore is a one-man show at the center of it all. A fine-tuned machine that prepares orders just as fast as his customers call them in with assuringly equal quality. It seems like even when he is busy during the lunch rush, he evokes so much pride in his craft that his product commands the respect it deserves.
All in all, Moore’s spicy chicken is a well-rounded gem of an establishment in the Nashville area and one would be daft not to go while you are nearby. You won’t be...
Read moreHad business in Nashville and wanted to enjoy some Nashville Hot Chicken. I looked at some of the better known chicken joints and while appealing, I decided to cast my net a little wider. This decision based on several reviews led me to Moore's Famous Chicken. It was well worth the extra 20 to 30 Minute drive up to Hendersonville. Moore's is a very unassuming place located in a typically nondescript strip mall. The restaurant is immaculate with an open kitchen that is as clean as any I have seen or worked in. The dining area has 3 small tables and a drink cooler offering 20oz. soft drinks. I would go with the Sweet tea option. But that chicken though; Sweet Baby Jesus. I ordered the "Leg Quarter" plate w/ fries. I got a thigh and drumstick on a piece of light bread. They were fried to an absolute perfection with the crust shattering on the first bite. The chicken was hot to the bone and the juice ran . . . The seasoning was everything I hoped it to be; Vibrant, complex and HOT. The heat was evident right away and was present troughout. I ordered the "Hot" and it was. For those unsure of their tolerance, I would recommend the Medium option. Mr. Moore has his foot all up in his Hot Chicken and I Imagine, the rest of his menu. So do yourself a favor, forgo the "Tourist Chicken" and make the trek to Moore's Famous Chicken in Hendersonville. You'll be...
