Creme De La Crepe Hermosa Beach — Restaurant in Hermosa Beach

The place has real potential and for what its worth there are a handful of locations throughout Southern California (4-6 sites?). I live in Oceanside and my good friend from high school lives in Venice, CA so we decided to meet somewhere in between which he recommended this joint. We arrived around noon(ish) which of course, is the lunch hour but they still served breakfast. If you didn't figure it out or haven't been there yet, it is French cuisine, specializing in an assortment of crepes. Many different options from the regular batter to a buckwheat batter and then a vegan "menu" is offered. My 9 year old ordered a crepe loaded with eggs, bacon and "breakfast" potatoes. He did not like it nor did he eat ore than a few bites. Luckily he also asked to order a side of French fries. He argued, "Well, they are "french"! I honestly must say they were the best French fries I've ever had! Now I've had specialized fries that come with fancy cheeses melted and that sort of thing but for a purely sliced potato deep fried into a "fry" and then salted and peppered only, these were truly amazing! My buddy and I both ordered an Eggs Benedict based on the server's high recommendation. It came with a side of au gratin potatoes (small portion), and a green salad (didn't touch!). My friend and I agreed that while the plate was certainly tasty, it was not incredible. This was in part, because the food was fairly cold when it arrived. WORST EXPERIENCE!!!!!! The wait time was reasonable as we were late for our reservations.

We ordered our drinks and food. When the food came. My friend did not like the salmon because it was raw, he asked if they could cook it all the way through. The server went and brought him a plate of more raw salmon. My friend explained again if they could cook his crepe longer the server rushed and said "oh yes" before my friend could even finish his sentence. The waitress came and we tried explaining to her that we didn't want raw salmon. She said ok. And ignored our request for them to cook the crepe longer. They ended up bringing us a small piece of salmon that was so over cooked and dry it was gross. At thus point my friend and I had given up and he was so hungry he just ate it.

The waitress asked "is this what you wanted?" We both said "no, its not" and even at that point she did not take the time to listen to wat was being requested and walked away.

We asked for the bill and paid and left a tip ... I really regret not saying anything but didn't want to make a scene it was a NIGHTMARE!!!!! Of an experience. I would never recommend this...

Hello today 3/21/21 my husband came to have breakfast since is our favorite place !, never had a bad experience but unfortunately today it was an unpleasant visit some how our server !. Took care of us after all !. This what happen !. Cassidy took our order she was very friendly , we got our drinks first !. After we waited time pass by “ I said fine their busy I understand, but suddenly I saw that guest behind us were served first that when I said “ what’s going on “ we waited 15 mins after “ still nothing still I asked a server “ I asked her what happen to our meals we were waiting for 30 mins already !. She supposedly went to check !. ‘ she walked by and she tell me anything’ until I asked Cassidy ‘ she took her of us ! Went to check came back said our food order got lost some how . She apologized “ got my glass of water ! Mimosas , and our food leas than 15 mins !. Plus we had Complementary meal ! She was the only one that really took care of us !. She made our day with her smile !.thank you for having her there !. Since is our Sunday’s favorite breakfast place we will highly recommended it !. And came back...
