11/10. Unbelievable. We were a table of four, in from out of town but you’d never know it by the way we were treated like local royalty. We started with a drink on their gorgeous furniture in their lounge area. The espresso martini was the best I have ever had. We also ordered the sausage dish as an app. We moved to the table and ordered their famous martini in the silver cup….exquisite. Nothing I’d change about that drink, absolutely perfect martini in every way. We tried a bit of everything, making our own tour of the menu. The duck pasta and duck salad were our favorites, hands down. The Buffalo risotto was the comfort food I had no idea I needed and was like a warm hug from a beloved aunt.
The service was unmatched. We had the pleasure of being served by, and chatting through the menu with, Kieran. Superb recommendations and a joy to just be around. We loved chatting about the chefs experience and inspiration for the dishes as well as some of the recommendations he had given us for other area restaurants to experience. Overall, an amazing experience and this restaurant alone is worth a trip...
Read moreAfter months of wanting to try Fox and Farrow, coupled with great reviews across many platforms, we finally decided to go to celebrate a birthday. The atmosphere is fantastic - love the dark European pub vibe, beautiful lights, art and furniture, however every other aspect of our experience was disappointing. The waitress maybe smiled once throughout our entire service and generally gave the impression that our presence was an inconvenience for her - this really put damper on the entire night that was meant to be celebratory. The truffle fries and sweet/sour lobster soup were delicious (esp the soup, highly recommend!!), however the boar risotto and duck pasta tasted like the kitchen had completely forgotten to salt them, which muted all the other flavors in the dishes. It was pretty shocking for a place of this caliber. Overall, it was really the service we received that will ensure we never return, super bummed bc I know Chef Darren has been an iconic local chef in the South Bay and clearly many, many other patrons have had an incredible...
Read moreWe had dinner here Saturday night. We had reservations and our table was ready on arrival. Dark and cozy atmosphere. We started with the pretzel loaf and the grilled caesar salad. The pretzel loaf has a mustard and horseradish (I think) dipping sauce which we both could not get enough of. The grilled salad was just alright. It's two whole romaine hearts lightly grilled and sitting on top of the dressing. It's fine, but nothing exciting. For mains, we had the hunter's pie and the bone in pork chop. Both very good. Hunter's pie is similar to a shepherd's pie, except here they use game meats and top with a parsnip puree. Really well done. Not a huge portion, but it's pretty rich and I felt it sufficient. The pork chop was also great. Cooked perfectly and topped with a really good chutney. Prices are very reasonable for the area. Service was excellent. Great cocktails. It's a bit loud with the bar full and many tables seated. We...
