I have lived in Hermosa for nearly 15 years and have always loved Paisanos (as a former NY-er who greatly misses NY pizza, Paisanos has always been the closest in Hermosa to NY slices), but despite that I haven't taken the time to write a review. That changed after this weekend. Normally, I just go in to grab a slice or pies for takeout. Rarely do I eat there. This Sunday, my entire family, including my 4.5 year old niece and 6.5 year old nephew, came to visit and we had our last meal together at Paisanos (since pizza is my favorite and my family indulges me). Michael waited on us and was just wonderful. He took amazing care of us, brought everything with a smile or laugh (filling my mom's wine glass to the absolute brim and catering to our strange requests), and then truly amazed me with his kindness towards my niece and nephew. He started asking my nephew if he was paying the bill and said if not, he could come work in the back, have italian ices and pizza for payment and come back later. My niece, never one to miss a beat, said "I wanna do that!!" Moments later, Michael was putting an apron around their eager necks and helping them each hold a waiter's pad and take our orders, giving them all the right questions to ask, and just bringing the biggest smiles to their faces. The photos and videos I took of them eagerly listening to him and then trying to be the best waiters ever are already treasured memories for all of the adults from what was already an amazing weekend. His unprompted kindness was truly outstanding. And of course, the food was as delicious as ever. Paisanos pizza has always been hard to beat, but I never knew how incredible their staff was. Michael, we can't thank you enough for such a...
Read moreFood is good but service is the worst. I waited in line to ask for a table for three to be told I can sit anywhere I want. We sat outdoors. Twenty minutes later nobody showed up to take an order. We decided to move inside then to see if waitress would pay more attention. After another ten minutes with nobody showing up, I went to the cash register and ask. The guy told me the waitress was so busy than I can order the food at the register. They had only one waitress for the whole restaurant running from one side to other. I placed the order: a salad, pasta and two slices of pizza. At no moment I had any interaction at all with the waitress. I was told the food would be ready in 15 minutes. They served the salad first. Abour 5 minutes later they served the pizza. 40 minutes later I was still waiting for the slices. I went to the cash register and told the guy I was missing the pizza. He asked me again what slices? I told him again. 20 minutes later I get up again and asked him how much time for the slices? He asked what slices? I told him I ordered an hour ago two slices of pizza. He completely forgot about it! He placed the order "again" and the pizza guy put two slices to warm up. Two minutes later I got the slices. Very bad services and very rude waitress. He moved our table without asking for permission to make room for another table. He tood the order for that table and never asked us about what to order even we sat before that table. Also I never got a receipt of...
Read moreI experienced horror at this place. I visited this place with my wife and two daughters, ages 5 and 3. The old waitress sat us at the table near the entrance. Only after the accident did we realize that the floor under the table had inclination/slope. A few moment later my daughter, age 3, sitting at the inclined side of the table, fell backwards, hit her head on the floor and lost her two teeth (yes, the force of impact was strong enough to eject her teeth). We found one tooth on the floor, the other one flew too far away.
Emergency services came, so did the owner of Paisano's Pizzeriza, some mr Dino. The accident was clearly caused by the uneven floor where they sat us. After emergency services left, Dino forced us out and publicly told us that we were there to stage the accident. This is what he offered us instead of an apology.
It has been some time since this accident. I still cannot forget the words Dino told me at the time of the incident - "You are Russian, right? You came here to stage the accident and claim insurance money". So negligent, ignorant and rude.. I have not pressed charges.. but I will do so!
This place is owned by some...
