Very disappointed with this Denny's on this visit as well as Denny's as a whole lately!!!! This visit was bad because our waiter, Joe, was glad for the little table kiosk to do his job for him even though they weren't that busy. Sorry, I refuse to use those! Anyway, we're ordered and he told me they no longer carried their cheddar buns. I was disappointed but ordered the brioche bun instead for my burger. Our meals arrived and my bun was wrong. The waiter couldn't be finished down. Finally we got the attention of another staff member. We told her and said, they no longer the brioche bun. At this point I'm already miffed about the situation! The bun I did have was hard and the burger overall wasn't that tasty. Disappointed and hungry I ate c the burger, as not to make my friends have to wait for a new one to be made....... they have me chocolate puppies for the mistake. I feel a discount at the very least should have been given considering the lack of knowledge by our waiter, lack of service and lack of interest in rectifying the issues at hand until the very end when a supervisor was notified. Even then it felt very thrown together to offer free puppies to appease me. I accepted with consideration of my friends so they weren't inconvenienced as the time was getting late. It's greatly irritating to see Denny's destroying it's customer base via their menu!! They've either cut menu items, or times when they can be served, changed their items or suppliers not to mention serving sizes and prices!!!! They're a diner that should serve diner items around the clock with larger portions and reasonable pricing, period!!! I can't even get the breakfasts there that I like because they've changed their white sausage gravy nationwide and they're grits are a despicable tiny "cup" that has about 4 bites in it, which you can only get in the morning. You can't even order a real size bowl of grits anymore....... it's sad because they used to have good food, great service and employees that cared about their customers. I guess it's hard to care when corporate and franchisee owners don't care about their employees or their customers. All they care about is the bottom line. Guess what, if you don't take care of your employees and your customers you're not gonna have a bottom line to worry about because employees will quit and customers will go...
Read moreCame to this Denny's 12/28 for breakfast. Immediately knew it was a mistake when we were seated at a table that had only been pre-bussed. The floor was sticky and covered in creamer containers and trash, and the opened sugar packets of the previous customer sat on the wiped clean table. I order a water and orange juice, and the waiter returns with a coffee and orange juice, no water. The appetizer comes out barely cooked with the incorrect sauce. After about 15 minutes in a nearly empty diner, our order arrived, my partner's order without his pancakes. The waiter struggles to bring back the correct sauces we ask for, and we wait for the order of pancakes. 10 minutes later, we still haven't received the pancakes that we can both see in the window from our seat. Every employee is too busy chatting in the corner to notice our order sitting. After 5 more minutes of waiting, our waiter returns and asks if we need anything! We had the pancakes removed from the bill, then proceeded to wait another few minutes for a to-go box due to our inattentive waiter, eventually flagging down the manager To ask for the box. To top the entire experience off, my partner discovers food on the end of the spoon he's been using to stir his coffee the entire time. Bottom line: NEVER go to this Denny's. The staff are all teenagers with little to no experience, the management cares little to improve the experience, and anywhere else you may look, you will find issues. I would rate 0/5 if I could. What a waste...
Read moreWent here for an early lunch, and if it wasn't for the quick acting of our waitress Gladys and the owner, we would have a completely different experience.
My husband has to be extremely careful about not eating dairy, as he's allergic to the protein. We make sure it's very clear to our wait person whenever we go to a restaurant because we want to make sure its pleasant for everyone. Usually the reaction from a little dairy is within 5-10 minutes, and we don't get very far.
We checked the menu, he ordered something that doesn't normally have cheese or butter on it, requested to make sure it wasn't cooked in butter or with anything else with butter/cheese.
It seems the cooks decided to put cheese on it despite it not supposed to have cheese on it by description or request. Gladys noticed before she left the kitchen and instructed them to make it without, and came and apologized, letting us know what happened.
When she came out with the meal, it looked right, but when you looked closely a couple pieces of broccoli had cheese on it, making the whole thing a digestive time bomb. It looked like the cooks were trying to save the food by scraping off the cheese, which if it were my picky son, would have worked, but not for an allergy.
The owner stepped in and made sure they recooked the meal. He was surprised there was cheese on it to begin with.
The owner and Gladys did well by...
