My wife and I ordered the manager special. Part of our order was the salad bar. Our bill total came to $32.05. That was for half a sandwich each as well as a one trip salad bar. After we paid we approached the salad bar and were shocked at the condition of some of the vegetables. The mixed green salad was yellow and brown and the broccoli was flowering. I approached two employees one being the manager and asked if they could come to the salad bar with me so that I could show them a few of my concerns. I explained that some of the vegetables looked very old and we're on their way out. The manager said ,without looking at the vegetables, we cut our vegetables fresh every morning. In turn I explained that that was even more concerning because broccoli doesn't grow flowers from morning to evening. She then dismissed me saying she would get to me when she had a chance. She obviously never had a chance. However, the employee walked over and told me that although the mixed greens were yellow and brown her manager would not allow her to throw them out because they weren't totally wilty and mushy. She then looked at the broccoli and said yeah that's definitely bad. She took it upon herself to try and rectify the situation and showed me more unopened bags of mixed greens. They were all yellow and brown but she said her manager would not allow them to throw that out. They had to serve it that way. I thanked her for trying to rectify the situation but expressed my disgust in paying $32 for half a sandwich and wilted vegetables. I've been to Jason's many times in the past. With this extremely poor management I will not go back to this location. And the young manager on duty in the gray shirt should find another career path. Customer service isn't her thing. Was too preoccupied with her cell phone.* Update** The assistant manager(Kathy) reached out to me personally. She was very apologetic for our situation and asked if we would give them another try. The situation is being addressed with staff so that it doesn't happen again. I appreciate her willingness to reach out and will try their restaurant again...
Read moreWell as much as we liked it at first since a management change it has gone to hell, just no other way to put it. We had such an awfull experiance we contacted corprate. They were wonderfull. Cliff the guy over the hickory n.c. store was great and contaced me the next day. He offerd a gift card to reimburse us , and promised to address the situation, and i belive he did. But after a month we went back, we were weekly customers and my wife would use them for catering when her board of directers would gather for a meeting. It was just horible. The kids were gathering for conversation rather than service the customers. 15 min waiting in line to place an order when there was only 2 people in front of us. Another 15 min wait for the food only to get the wrong food. Now 10 people waiting in line to place there orders and still with 2 registers only 1 person taking orders while keeping up with conversation with friends that gathered. Clearly the paying customers were way down the list of priority. An older couple we noticed was there before us and had not recieved there food before us and seemed upset . They get your money expect a tip brfore providing any service was a topic of conversation between them and my wife so the gentalman walked up to see what the delay was and they had lost his order ticket. By this time more people are coming up to see were thair order was. 40 min after ordering we got the correct food. Still the gathering of workers not working the salad bar had been deplieted 2 people trying to catch up on orders while 4 other laugh and talk. Always FREE ice cream in cup or cone, as well as FREE nuts, mini gingerbread muffins that are sooo good. Chocolate syrup for drizzling over the ice cream. But the sandwiches can be ordered toasted, lightly toasted, inside hot, untoasted bread, or pretty much any way you like it. You can build your own sandwich by telling cashier your selection of bread, meats, condiments etc. I have tasted most things, and i will truthfully say the only, literally the only sandwich that i do not like is the chicken salad. I love good chicken salad but theirs has an overpowering amt of pineapple. To me i could not taste the chicken. The foods are super Fresh. The staff is always willing to help. My family as well as church family goes there a lot. There are a cpl exceptional employees, that are super friendly and go out of their way to do over and beyond their job requirements i have noticed. But as a whole a exceptionally nice place to eat, great atmosphere.... wonderful large salad bar, several pasta combos on the bar, variety of nuts, nut mixtures.
