Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in High Point

My brother and my sister-in-law took me out to eat at Applebee's it was okay experience at first we had to wait between 30 minutes up to about 45 minutes wait because they didn't have enough waitresses I had a few and then they had two extra waitresses that were in training work the bartender area and he was kind of like a waiter and bartender God we didn't get the bartender area cuz I had just quit drinking I just quit drinking alcohol and I'm trying to go without drinking anything I'm not like a complete alcoholic I just don't want to drink no more alcohol for a while because I know what it does to my to family members butt I asked if I could get a beer and they told me I had to be sitting in the the bartender area to get a beer and our waitress she was okay she was nice she was very very polite and she she was always running all over the whole entire restaurant and working everybody else's tables I order everything in it in advance to keep our food being hot and then being served us on time so we ended up being there for more than what we want it to be there cuz my sister-in-law runs a notary business did not want to be there for the longest damn time so about the end of the damn night she gets my brother and his wife's you know receipt thing and I was supposed to do mine by myself my part of the of the receipt extra $10 tip tip for herself and I didn't even hit that I hit custom and I put all three zeros ask me for any more drink after we got done you know having our food and I had this really good mountain dew drink and I thought it was blue color I was really impressed by that and it was like she was like let me see your car and she taps it and when she taps it she said well I got to read tap it again I was like excuse me you're not retiring again after you tap once I said did I had three shots of bourbon and then two things of chocolate fudge I said excuse me I said if I had gotten the three shots of bourbon and I would have been drunk by about now I would I would highly recommend that they take their staff and have them retrain but that's just me but I have been trying to get a job for a while now but you don't really do this to people that don't want to be treated this way but I did get my my reimbursement for my $10 but if it's me if that's where you want to go and you want to wait 20 to 30 the the 45 minute wait and sometimes if you have a big crowd you got to wait almost 60 minutes to an hour I mean that that be practically would be an hour got a big group of people but if it's me I wouldn't go there if you got a big crowd if it fits me I take yourself to Golden corral and...

Sat down to order, me and my wife ordered two mixed drink specials they had first and water and told the waiter we needed a couple minutes to look at the menu. Waiter came back about 8 minutes later and we ordered our food. We waited about another 5 minutes this has been about close to 15 minutes now and we still haven't gotten our drinks that we ordered that we wanted to drink before our meal (I don't like drinking alcohol during my meal). Next thing you know about another 5 minutes it's been about 20 minutes now here comes the waitress with our food no drinks.. she dropped the food off and I ran up to the bar before I could say something to the before I could say something to the waitress and ask the bartender hey if you haven't made those drinks yet, explain what drinks they were, then just don't worry about it we've got our food now. He said that he had them made although I saw two glasses that oue drinks were supposed to come in (special drinks with specific glasses that's how I knew they were ours). I just said okay never mind that's fine, went back sit down watch the bartender as he made our drinks one of them had to be blended because it was frozen so he actually did not make our drinks yet. We were halfway done with our meals and then our drinks came out it literally took 30 minutes to make two drinks. Needless to say we both ate and just left both drinks on the table. Service these days it's just not the same as it used to be. If you want to drink and eat I definitely suggest you sit at the bar do not sit at a table. Pretty bad experience at this location. I'm sure they do good work but our experience really was not to pleasant. I'm not the type to complain we just paid and left left the drinks on the table, we still left the tip because we understand that's how waitresses get paid and it really wasn't her fault but the tip was not as generous as it always is when I go out and have a good experience at a restaurant. Beware if you sit at the table make sure you explicitly ask them to bring your drink out before your food if you order a mixed drink and you're wanting one before you eat. To the unsuspecting consumer and whomever it may concern,

I have been charged as of 11:54 PM EST an eye popping total of $584.48 on a meal where I spent $135.00 including the tip. The manager of the location, Evan Frederico, was professional and hospitable, but the answer he gave me was that the over charging was due to a systematic error with what I am assuming is your point of service system provider.

It is truly a shame that Evan and our waiter Gabriel were so fantastic, but because of this experience I can never and will never return to Applebees.

The staff are very friendly and professional, and I am absolutely sure they deserve double what you pay them given that this cannot be the first time corporate has placed them in an impossible situation.

The fact that I or anyone else impacted have to go through a whole process to get these transactions reversed is completely inexcusable, and I am thankful it was not large enough to reach the limit on my credit card, yet.

I can only hope this experience was limited to just me and that your company did not just harm hundreds of consumers through gross negligence. Let anyone reading this review beware to dine here at their own risk.

As far as the food goes, the quesadilla cheeseburger and strawberry margarita I had were good, but respectfully not $584.48.

My deepest regret in all of this is that I allowed my hubris to fool me into thinking Applebees would be a great place for dinner.

That will never happen again no matter how cheap the endless boneless wings...
