Named for the owners’ late Yellow Lab, Boulder’s features a canine motif throughout. This, the establishment’s cleanliness, and a few intriguing menu options help distinguish it from the average sports bar despite the requisite noise and screens. As a newcomer to High Point, it’s off to a good start, albeit with room for improvement. Boulder’s is seat yourself, and between the dining room, the bar, and the patio, there’s a good chance you’ll be able to. The menu offers the wings, apps, and burgers that you’d expect as well as a few pleasant surprises. They offer several variations of a fancy grilled cheese, grouper in a sandwich or in fried bites, and a surprising number of salads. For our first visit, my wife and I went with a pretzel app and then the pimento bacon burger and the meatloaf sandwich, respectively. Overall, the food was satisfying if unremarkable. The soft pretzels were in sticks rather than twists, and they came with a pair of dipping sauces: a mustard (OK) and a queso (tasty, with a nice green chili kick). The meatloaf sandwich was simple – meatloaf, ketchup, and Swiss on sourdough – though it made for a deceptively filling meal. While the meatloaf was seasoned well (savory with just a hint of sweet), the “spicy” ketchup didn’t deliver any heat. I went with onion rings for my side, and they were crisp and nicely battered. The burger was good if a bit of a mess to try to eat. New restaurants often need a little time to get the hang of service, but that wasn’t the case here. Our server was on top of things, and the kitchen turned around food fairly promptly. You’ll pay in the mid-teens for a burger or a sandwich (side included) here, which isn’t unreasonable. The onion rings were a dollar upcharge and well worth it, but a dollar to swap the burger’s onions for pickles seemed excessive. Boulder’s has potential, and I’m curious to see what kind of specials they come up with when they are further established. In the meantime, it’s a solid option if you want a lively atmosphere.

I was well aware that this was a new establishment before giving it a go. My husband and I were not disappointed. We arrived just before dinner rush on Friday 6/6. First come, First serve seating. That could re-visited in my opinion during peak times when guests are wandering around/hovering/standing while waiting for an open seat. Moving on, loved the menu offerings and the twists/tweaks to what is considered ordinary Pub Fare. We started with the pretzels(3), not your expected braided ones. They were more like oversized breadsticks. They were good and served with regular yellow mustard and a housemate cheese sauce. I can appreciate the authenticity BUT the cheese sauce needs a little help. It's missing the *POP* factor. Next, our meal consisted of the Grouper sandwich w/fries and the Italian w/pasta salad. For my husband, it was Love at 1st Bite. His Italian was all I heard about all evening. He thoroughly enjoyed his uniquely different pasta salad as well. My Grouper, well.. I could not eat it. This is my own issue and should've asked about bones before ordering. I know it's fish and subjest to bones, I took for granted it didn't. THAT'S ON ME! I must give kudos to the manager and our waitress though. They let me exchange it for the Black n Bleu burger for no charge. I was willing to pay for my mistake BUT they wouldn't allow it. Mid meal, my husband ordered their onion rings. He couldn't keep his eyes off of everyone else's. They were delicious! My husband raved about those too, said he'd make a meal of them. The horseradish sauce....Mmmmm! The upcharge for it...eh, questionable. Our server was phenomenal! We look forward to going back and trying more items.

First time to this brand new popular gathering spot. The atmosphere is a great pub eatery with plenty of seating inside and out including bar top tables. Service was fast, friendly and eager for us to try the menu. I order the Smokehouse Burger with tater tots. The wait was normal for cooked to order menu. My burger was a full 3/4" thick 1/2 lb patty cooked to my ordern of medium well (slight pink). The burger's savory generous bacon was PERFECT with the hint of BBQ making this a solid 8/10 delicious surprise! The tots where equally satisfying, cooked to a perfect crispy outside and not greasy as at all! My other party members also commented on how great their food was as well! I'll definitely be back to this soon to be packed, popular spot!
