From the moment I stepped into Sammy G, it was as if I'd walked into a culinary masterpiece, and trust me, I've seen my fair share of properties. The decor is so charming it could sell houses on its own.
Now, let's get down to the main event: the food. Sammy G's menu is like a real estate portfolio, diverse and impressive. Whether you're in the mood for a savory steak or something exotic, they've got you covered.
I went all-in with the "Sammy G Special," and boy, was it a real estate deal worth investing in! Shrimp, steak, and veggies mingled on my plate like they were trying to close a deal. Each bite was like signing on the dotted line of flavor.
Speaking of pairing, their wine list is more impressive than a dream home. I consulted their experts and found a local gem that perfectly complemented my meal.
What makes Sammy G stand out, much like a unique property, is their commitment to using locally sourced ingredients. It's a testament to their dedication to the community.
Service? Impeccable! The staff walked the fine line between attentive and overbearing with finesse. They made sure my dining experience was top-notch.
In conclusion, Sammy G Restaurant is the crown jewel of High Point's dining scene. With its inviting atmosphere, delectable dishes, and stellar service, it's a place that deserves a spot on your culinary map. Whether you're a seasoned local or just passing through, don't miss this gastronomic real estate gem. It's the kind of place where you'll want to sign a long-term lease for...
Read moreWe live close to Sammy G’s so we’ve been there maybe 10-15 times during the past year. At first we loved it, great food and service.
Lately, the food has been disappointing because it’s not always hot when served. Each time I order their chili, which I love, it’s just lukewarm. I have had to send it back several times to be served hot. I have even asked to please make sure it’s hot when ordering, and that hasn’t helped.
A couple of days ago, we waited 45 minutes after ordering to be served. I had the broccoli alfredo with shrimp added, and my husband ordered the shrimp tacos. Both dishes were barely warm when served. The server was nice and friendly, and talked about a large party present, but sorry..no excuse for food being served that had obviously been sitting for awhile. They did take half off of our bill, which was nice, but we will not be back for awhile. Food must be served hot…this is a health and safety issue (unless it’s meant to be a cold dish).
Update: After a year of avoiding Sammy G’s, I tried it again, and have been pleased with what are evidently management changes or tweaks. My food is always hot and the service is excellent….and super friendly. I visit every 2-3 weeks now for lunch, sometimes with hubby joining me. One of my favorite...
Read moreWe've lived in this part of town for far too long to have not yet visited Sammy G's for date night. This evening we finally made it there, and were not disappointed.
Our server Lily was excellent, and even though we were seated out in a lonely back room area (socially distanced or simply privacy?) she did not forget about or neglect us once!
We ordered nacho appetizer (good, if not easily replicated at the house), shrimp tacos w/ handmade fried potato chips (good tacos, lots of avocado), and the stuffed flounder (delicious, well-earned reputation, nearly worth the $19 price!). Everything was really tasty, and we would definitely be back when we have much more time/leisure.
... Which brings me to why this is a 4 star review and not a 5 star review. It took nearly 35 minutes for our entrees to arrive at the table. This seemed excessive, and the meager Friday night "crowd" hardly seemed overwhelming in this year anniversary month of COVID lockdowns. We are not impatient diners, but it took noticably long for our meal, long enough for me to send back my dinner salad for a replacement (which was much more fresh and excellent than the first one).
All things considered, the food was as good as the wait for it was lengthy, and we would definitely...
