Tokyo Express — Restaurant in High Point

About sixish years ago I went here and always loved it. However, I left my wallet one time and I only lived 13 min away and I realized I did and called back up there to see if they had it and they said yes. So I rushed up there to get it, relieved that they had it bc I was a waitress at the time and, unlike today, had $2,000 in cash plus a $200 uncashed pay check. Well I went in and they somehow "didn't have it anymore". Luckily cops were eating there and I politely interrupted their dinner and told them about it and asked if they would assist me after telling them the situation. I was in the dumpster looking for it and nothing. Well, then when the cops finished their meals was getting up, my wallet "mysteriously" turned up. I vowed to myself I would never again return. I know this doesn't address or rate the food and quality and price, but it does show honesty and integrity which was very unacceptable and unethically and morally wrong. I don't know if this one staff member still works their or not but I will say the one who said they had my wallet and the one who tried to hide on a top shelf in a back room and steal it were not the same individuals, one was super professional and wanted to help while the other wouldn't have given it up if those cops wouldn't have been there, so he pretended to come across it.

The owner/manageris very nice and always has been, but there are always those people when faced into doing what is right and what they think they can get by with everywhere. Thankfully they did what was right in the end.

However, I returned for the first time today and the food was still amazing as before and they were very quick to serve and super friendly. And if you asked for anything or whatever they were sure to make sure you were a satisfied customer. I know it was not their fault in a staff member wavering in stealing versus doing what is right. So I hold no grudges, and will definitely return but make sure I have my belongings bc this could happen anywhere in this money driven world.

Only if everyone did what was right ALL the time.

Great food for the price and speedy...

Being new to the area, I started looking for different restaurants to eat at. I saw this place and decided to give them a try. I tried the chicken, scallop & shrimp dish, and I must say, it was on point!!! The staff was friendly, and usually, I'm in and out without calling ahead of time to preorder. So that's a plus. However, I did not know, or like that every time I've gone there, I've been asking for a little extra onions with my veggies, and never once was I ever told there's an additional charge for some extra onions. I've been getting takeout from them once a week for the last three months. Instantly, when one of the cooks sees me come in, he asks me if I'm getting my usual!!! Last week I found out I was being charged the entire time for the extra onions. I only learned this when the young lady who took my order this time forgot to charge me for them. The manager called me to the register and said she always charged me for extra onions, but the young lady didn't include it in the total owed. Had they not already cooked them and put them in my food, I would've told them to forego the extra onions. However, I wound up paying an additional $2+ for extra onions. That was very disappointing because where I'm from (North), they don't charge us when we ask for a little extra onions. As a manager, I would've said, we won't charge you this time but know, moving forward, there's an additional charge. I will still order from them, but I refuse to pay $2+ for extra onions that doesn't even equal to a 1/2 onion. Not to mention a whole onion doesn't cost $2 in the...

I went there for the first time today and the people working in the pickup/drive through window were so rude. I drove up and I told them I had a pick up order he said "okay? Which one" and threw his hands up and pointed to the orders sitting next to the window I told him what I ordered and then he told me the total (which was reasonable). I then handed him my card and he pretty much snatched it from my hands. Didn't say anything came back brought me two receipts and a pen. I was waiting for my food then that's when he pretty much PUSHED the food in my window didn't even give me a chance to hand the pen or signed receipt back to him. Really bad customer service & the food isn't even that good. Noodles were pretty bland and the steak was over cooked. The veggies and the rice were good but it's kinda hard to mess up rice.
